Generali think you should know a little bit about that already. like creating a unified inclusive community.
Musici love tapes and records and now i'm defending the CD...because everyone burns CD's and they skip and have the wrong track-listing and other info. or worse yet, they have all their misinformed musical selections on laptops and iPods...and they sound like the Once-ler singing in a Whisper-ma-phone. (this is not necessarily the music i like, it's just what influenced me and got me here. like, i understand the influence and diversity of Neil Young...but it didn't do anything for me. i like him. i also love Tom Waits...but he didn't lead me forward either. Sonic Youth i can respect...but i can't fool myself into enjoying them) so, in chronological order: KISS, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, commercial radio, Cyndi Lauper, Def Leppard, Huey Lewis, Motley Crue, Men at Work, Michael Jackson, Prince, THE CARS, Stray Cats, Bon Jovi, Duran Duran, VAN HALEN, Phil Collins, Genesis, Jackson Browne, Tracy Chapman, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Cinderella, White Lion, Tesla, GUNS N ROSES, PINK FLOYD!, RUSH, Yes, Moody Blues, Steely Dan, Jethro Tull, SYD BARRETT, DAVID GILMOUR, ROGER WATERS, FLEETWOOD MAC, Lindsey Buckingham, Bob Marley, JIMI HENDRIX, Sly & the Family Stone, Janis Joplin, "woodstock", CCR, Simon & Garfunkel, CSN&Y, Melanie, BOB DYLAN, Donovan, Traveling Wilbury's, LIVING COLOUR, THE CULT, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, METALLICA, AC/DC!, Suicidal Tendencies, Anthrax, classic rock, Queen, Steve Miller, Boston, Tom Petty, Black Crowes, Thin Lizzy, Mountain, Anthrax, Public Enemy, GRATEFUL DEAD!, Allman Brothers, SOCIAL DISTORTION, Black Flag, Bouncing Souls, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, PEARL JAM, Van Morrisson, STORYHILL/CHRIS&JOHNNY!, SANTANA, Gear Daddies, MANGO JAM, The Void, BEN WILINSKI, Jeff Pulsipher, Tuna Zen Trio, SCHWA, Paco, WEDG, Camp OJ/Surf Nation, Opposable Thumbs, Cake, Jasper & the Prodigal Suns, SATAN & ADAM, CAT STEVENS, Primus, Skip Spence, Gil Scott-Heron, Love, Can, Sinead O'Connor, The Goats, the Police, Dire Straits, swallowed pride and retroactively loved: U2/REM/B-52's/theCure/Violent Femmes, Frank Zappa, DETROIT, MANPLANET, BLUES TRAVELER!, PHISH!, Tom Paxton, TALKING HEADS, PETER GABRIEL, Nirvana "Unplugged", Paul Simon, the Beatles, They Might Be Giants, Matthew Sweet, Midnight Oil, Blind Melon, Urban Dance Squad, Beastie Boys, Buckshot LeFonque, Fishbone, DeLaSoul, Tribe Called Quest, the SAMPLES, Rusted Root, Bjork, MedeskiMartin&Wood, Widespread Panic, NPR, "bluegrass", Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Garcia & Grisman, "120 Minutes", BECK, the FLAMING LIPS!, eels, Swell, LUNA, Liz Phair, Velvet Underground, G.Love & Special Sauce, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Kaiser-Lindley, Outback/Dr.Didj, "Harry Smith Anthology", Lomax Brothers, "A Prairie Home Companion", Deep Forest, Enigma, Enya, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Farke Toure, Cornershop, "Indestructible Beat of Soweto", Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Habib Koite, MANU CHAO, MASTER MUSICIANS OF JAJOUKA, PAUL PENA!, John Prine, Leo Kottke, Greg Brown, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, INDIGO GIRLS, the Beads, Blue Light Boogie, WARREN ZEVON, ANI DIFRANCO, TAJ MAHAL, Nilsson, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Mississippi John Hurt, LOUISIANA RED, David Gray, NICK DRAKE!, DOLOMITES, TED HAWKINS, Fred Neil, "Danish Pop/Dance Music", Ben Folds Five, Radiohead, KRAFTWERK, LAURIE ANDERSON, Aphex Twin, Future Sound of London, "gamelan ensembles", Dr.Octagon/KoolKeith, Modest Mouse, moe., John Bernadot, IQU, KAOS 89.3, K Records, K-BIRD am, MIRAH, Microphones/Mt.Eerie, the DOLLY RANCHERS, Little Wings, MacDawg, Dead Milkmen, the Slits, Wesley Willis, BABY GRAMPS, KFAI 90.3/106.7, Radio K 770am, KVSC 88.1, Yukon Ryder, SANDMAN!, JONATHAN RICHMAN, SCREAM CLUB, WOODY GUTHRIE, Andras Jones, "old country: Hank Williams/Ernest Tubb/Johnny Cash/Jimmie Rodgers, "old rap": Whodini/Newcleus, dead prez, LARRY PENN, the Rose Tattoo, UTAH PHILLIPS, Judd & Joe, OLY WAY OUT, CHRIS CHANDLER & ANNE FEENEY, Belle & Sebastian, the White Stripes, Hot Club Sandwich, The Streets, Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players, BITCH (& animal), BONFIRE MADIGAN, Old Time Relijun, MC PAUL BARMAN, GEORGE SHRUB & DAVE LIPPMAN, Stevie Wonder, Log Hog, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, POLYPHONIC SPREE, BRIGHT EYES, "the GREEN LANTERN coffeehouse & cabaret", JACK NORTON (& the Mullet River Boys), Rev. Alejandro. Hello there. Guess who isn't keeping track of worthwhile music and art opportunities in my neck of the woods? you! I saw Charlie Parr tonight at my local community college. He was fantastic as always, I cried a little because I'm starved for real art and music here and his stuff always makes me feel something. Anyway, it was great but unfortunate because Prairie HC was in Duluth and he missed being on there b/c he was in Rlander. At least that's what someone said.

Alejandro,
thank you for my new favorite shirt! I am tickled that you chose to send it to me, there must have been many more in your friend circle who would covet such a prize.
You're a-we-some!

We'd love to carry Runaway Train of Thought #27. We heard that you're too lazy to get it printed and too uncompromising to pay for it at all even though you'd make all your money back by selling 5 of them...we pay money down.

Madigan....in Winona...that's BRILLIANT. I'm not sure it is possible to love any music more than I do when her voice and cello and poetry and strength and brilliance is filling a room. I need to be there. I love you for setting this up.
