About Alex Martin

INTERNATIONAL INFO: Seems that the name Alex Martin can be a starting point to get into contemporary Spanish electronic and club music history. He was a pioneer in the 90..s and the first Spanish act getting signed on some of the best known international recording labels like F-Communication - Playhouse - Pod - Klang - Pagoda - Hypnotism and so on. He also released some of his finest works on well known Spanish labels like Cosmos, Boozo, Minifunk or Geometrik. Alex always loved to play his music as a simple musician and he didnt get too obsessed about being a DJ superstar, as he doesnt really believe on that. Maybe he had not touched lots of clubs and never been flying over the world every week, but his music and his passion seems to survive. Anyway, Berlin, Paris, Zurich had seen him playing, some big festivals, some TV, his tracks had been played even at "KISS FM" , all this is enough for him, his personal "goals" had been reached. Now Alex is back in the studio recording his fourth "Alex Martin Ensemble" project and ready to release some 12 inches on some of the newest labels. He also keeps DJing a little and happy when someone ask for a remix, so you can find some of his latest works if you look a little bit deep into the scene.

INFORMACION: Alex Martín es un nombre imprescindible dentro de nuestra escena electrónica. Con una sólida carrera a sus espaldas, este prolífico productor barcelonés pasa por ser uno de los artistas españoles más internacionales en lo que respecta a música de club, dato excepcional si se tiene en cuenta el poco nivel de convocatoria que hasta el momento habian sostenido la mayoría de producciones nacionales en este ramo musical. Alex ha desplegado un variado abanico de nombres para bautizar sus trabajos para prestigiosos sellos europeos como F:Communications o Pagoda, Playhouse, Klang, Pod o Hypnotism. En el sello francés regentado por Laurent Garnier, editó la imprescindible serie de Ep's bajo el nombre de Iberian donde exploraba la electronica más bailable, mientras que para el label británico Pagoda facturaba un cocktail de tech house y breaks electrónicos irresistible. En el sello Playhouse inició su proyecto Phat Db, mietras que en Klang Pod e Hypnotism cultivó su vertiente más electrónica bajo alias como Sideral o Earcloud. A su vez, ha cultivado una prolífica actividad discográfica en sellos nacionales como Cosmos, Boozo, Minifunk o su propio sello Higlamm. En este último ha editado material de dos de sus proyectos más conocidos: Full Duplex para facturar groovy house con aromas disco, compartiendo cartel con Mayte S y Phat DB para dar rienda suelta a su vertiente más techno. En Boozo editó diversos maxis repletos de ese detroit techno atmosférico y bailable marca de la casa, de forma similar a sus referencias en Higlamm. Una de sus ultimas aventuras ha sido la de co-fundador de micromusic Barcelona.

También queremos hacer una aclaración a los rumores que dicen que alguna de estas discográficas grandes esta detrás nuestro pagandonos la aventura, NO ES CIERTO, no tenemos sello, somos hijos de vecino y nos hemos pagado la aventura de nuestro bolsillo y os aseguramos que hemos tenido que hacer mucho sacrificio para conseguir esto, pero es lo que hay, todo por nuestra música. ..
