Alex Matheson is a singer/songwriter from Halifax, NS. She has been singing since an early age and has been writing her own songs for over ten years after she taught herself how to play the guitar. Her love of music runs in the family; her three brothers and one sister are all musicians. Her father also plays and builds guitars.
Alex sets a fine example of Canadian musical talent. Her style is a blend of country, pop and rock which gives her recordings a very commercial sound.
Alex cites artists from all genres of music as her influences. Bob Dylan, U2, Tom Petty and Shania Twain have all been inspirations to her.
Alex has graced the stage in many cities including Nashville and Los Angeles. In L.A. she fronted a country/rock band and now she is currently showcasing her original material acoustically.
Alex launched her debut EP this year simply entitled "Alex Matheson" and is actively promoting her music to audiences and media.
