Toronto born and bred, worked at an animation studio designing characters, locations and props for animated shows like Magic School Bus, Franklin the Turtle and the Ace Venura cartoon until making comedy full time. Have since performed a gala at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, been nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Male Standup and named Best show of 2006 in Toronto's NOW magazine. Not bad.
“He's always been a nimble physical comic... but his act has matured and gone to astonishing places. Nussbaum can find the funny in seemingly incongruous things. He's stand-up comedy's great lateral thinker… But to fully appreciate his art, you’ve got to witness him live.” NOW Magazine Toronto
“I’m not much of a laugher, which may be odd for a comedy reviewer… Still, about once a decade I’m good for a bout of giggles I can’t stop…. The routine gave my face a real workout. Laughing hurts. At least it can rest for another 10 years.” The Georgia Straight

It was great ALMOST taking your pic on stage last night. I want to not see your act again very soon. By the way, did Mark tell you his fiancee was from Toronto? Cheers..

How have you been? Just wanted to drop in and say thanks so much for bringing your comedic magic to last year's Toronto Songwriters' Festival at Hugh's Room. You were incredible. You and the other artists helped us raise over $5,000 to help poor children in Laos and India!
This year we expanded our festival to 2 days (Oct. 13-14) to include a day for young songwriters. Drop by and say hello when you get a chance.
Sadly, in translation, I am not the fruit to your nut. I am the church to your nut. But perhaps early German people went to my ancestor's church to give thanks for your ancestor's nuts. It's very possible. And poetic. I'll see you when I'm back in LA, and I will cry out, "The Nuss!"
