Alex Petrounov is a songwriter. His catalog features over 250 songs. Some of his work has been played nationally on TV and radio (ABC, Travel Channel, Spike, etc.) and internationally (England, Germany, Australia, Czech Republic, etc.).
He has written for and produced up and coming independent artists. He has also co-written with songwriting giants Steven Sater (Spring Awakening, Duncan Sheik), Robert Ellis Orrall (Lindsey Lohan, Rachel Lampa), Drew Ramsey (Jonny Lang, India Arie, Eric Benet) and others.
Among many talented people, Alex has worked with Drew and Shannon (Jonny Lang, India Arie, Eric Benet), Ken Coomer (Wilco), Greg Archilla (Collective Soul, Matchbox 20), and Tommy Sims (Bruce Springstein, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt). His unique personal style of cross-genre guitar playing has been the impetus for his involvement in various sessions.
Alex was born in Bulgaria, where his father started "The Silver Bracelets," Bulgaria's first rock band. At 14 years of age, a beat-up nylon-string guitar introduced him to a world of integrating poetry, melody, harmony and rhythm into something that could invigorate people.
