Bio:

Getting his start as a songwriter with Ottawa Punk/Rock outfit The Fully Down, Alex R Newman soon realised that writing music would be his life long calling. Having always been influenced by folk and country artists such as Ryan Adams, Neil Young, and The Cardigans. Alex eventually came to the realisation that he needed a way to express a more rootsy side of his writing. It only seemed natural to start his solo career as a singer songwriter. Having spent the last three years touring Canada, The United States, and Japan extensively. Alex has no shortage of inspiration for his songs. With intelligent lyrics, “punk rock” ideals, and song that will linger in your head for days. Alex R Newman offers a unique take on modern folk.
