Born in Yaroslavl, Russia in 1967, Alex studied classical and jazz in various schools, including the Gnesin Institute of Music in Moscow. Joined Mingus Big Band ('95). Joined Dave Holland Big Band (2000). Joined Michael Brecker's Quin..et ('03). Regular member of all groups still.
