"Theorizing that one could time travel within their own lifetime, Alex and the Techno Kids stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and Vanished...They woke to find themselves trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not their own and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. Their only guide on this journey is Al, an observer from their own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only the members of Alex the Kid can see and hear. And so The Kids find themselves leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that their next leap will be the leap home."
"The newest band to hit Wellington claim to have quantum leaped here from the future - to rectify this world?s relationship with technology. Alex the Kid, a four-piece ?future pop? band have been described as a confused boy band, or the Pet Shop Boys on steroids, and have a mission with their music; to promote human and robot unity on earth.
They do this through a lively combination of electronica, indie and techno, animated in-between song banter, vocoders, synthesizers, guitars, bass, drums, laptops, Star Trek suits, and a highly visual, hyperlink rich MySpace page. Their endearing devotion to technology - evident through their dedication of whole songs to the stuff - would put Kip Dynamite to shame.
- Stacey Knott, Salient Magazine"
Alex the Kid are a group of emotional young gentlemen, set on improving the world through the advancement of technology, and the introduction of robots into the human race.
At the same time they acknowledge the fact that each day, people drift further and further away from each other, replacing their conversations with computers, and in some cases choosing to communicate only with technology itself rather than speak to another human. Our dream is that we would work together to find a balance, and that we would promise each other that when robots rise, we will not destroy them in fear but, work alongside them as they grow and develop opinions and emotions of their own...
"With a menagerie of recorded songs behind them, electro future-pop sensation ‘Alex The Kid’s’ first ever live show has been over a year in the making, and we were among the twentyish fans who congregated in Dave’s bedroom to hear them." - www.theset.co.nz

I'm such a let down... I didn't make it to your show... sorry. Any other shows coming up in the region, and this time I'll maker a better effort to come? Aha.
Hmm yeah I didn't go to Rockquest regional's. I think I had like a wedding or something on haha. So, if I go to this show can I expect you all to be wearing space cadet jumpsuits, or will I just have to guess who you all are and risk potentially embarrassing myself? ;)
