The history of Alex Valenzi & The Hideaway Cats started way back in 1993, when the band was formed in the good old town of Memphis, TN. The first line up was Alex ( vocals/ piano), Al Lawrence (lead guitar), Jim Nolen (bass) and Fred Norman (drums).
The band performed in a regular basis at one of the most famous clubs in America: Hernandos Hideaway.
During the period of six months the band toured through out the South and played in acclaimed places like Jerry Lee Lewis Spot at the Beale Street and music festivals such as Memphis in May and Beale Street Rock Festival.
In October of 1993, the band headed to Brazil invited as opening act for Jerry Lee Lewis on his first brazilian tour. Based in São Paulo, the band started to play on the most important clubs in the rock scene and ended up recording their first live album with James Burton and Kenny Lovelace in March of 1995.
The band went back to USA in September of 1995 and performed at the Killers birthday party in Memphis where they achieved great success.
After some months the band had the chance to be the opening act for the Original Comets during their brazilian tour and Alex had the chance to jam with the Comets during a TV appearance.
After years rolling the rock, Alex and the band are getting ready to put out the first full length album on the label Bad Habits Records and give for your listening pleasure an explosive mix of rockabilly, boogie woogie, rock'n'roll and country music in every gig they play.
