SATURDAY, JANUARY 17, 2009 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MR. VARKATZAS.
I would like to take this time to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the man, himself, Alex. 27 sweet years, baby.
I would also like to make a painful and sad announcement. I've been feeling lately that it may be time to give up on fansites for good. This year and last year, I have been really busy. I've been in extremely poor health and everything else, as well as traveling constantly. I'm not one of the sweet webdesigners with a laptop that can update everywhere. I'm just an average seventeen year old kid. I don't even have a functioning computer in my house. I also have a mother that won't let me spend all of my time at the library, or long enough every day to push this website to its potential, which irritates me. So, for the record,
I'm not purposefully trying to neglect this website. And I've also kind of lost faith in fansites and members and such. I mean, people get excited about it for the first like little while, but then, it's like "Do people even care enough to read my bulletins?" We get all these people that are like "Yeah, I support you! Yeah, I'll promote! Woo!" but, like one in fifty people actually go through with it and stick with a fansite through the thick and thin. It doesn't feel worth it to me to spend this much time and effort and money on something that is mostly gratifying to myself. I love Alex, and I want to support him. But that's really hard to do when A) you don't have the time and resources that other leading fansite owners have and B) no one really cares enough for it to be worth it. While I love Alex & Atreyu, and I feel like I would be letting them down, I think I may have to call it quits for AVF & AV-net. It has taken me months to come to this decision, and I don't quite feel comfortable with it, yet. So I mean, if you have input, shoot me an email
here. Otherwise, this is probably thhe bitter end. I've had an overall good experience with this all, and I am thankful for all of the support I've gotten. But sometimes, you just have to admit that enough is enough.

MONDAY, APRIL 7, 2008 - THANK YOU FROM AVF.
On April 23, AlexVarkatzas.net will have been open for a year.
And on October 9, AVF on MySpace will have been open for two years.
When I opened AVF, I honestly never expected it to go this far or turn in to what it has. I never thought in my wildest dreams that Alex would ever see our site or Atreyu would ever promote us or any of those meaningful milestones would ever happen. And I certainly never thought that we would ever have 1,389 friends.
So I’d like to thank everyone who’s supported this site and seen it through to what it is, now. I really appreciate all of the support you guys have given me through the rough patches in my personal life and all the support and praise I have received about this site. It really makes it all worth it to know that people support what I’ve put so much time [and money] in to.
So, thank you, everyone.
And, a big, sincere thank you, from the bottom of my heart to the people that have been with us from the very beginning. From the time when there were hardly any Atreyu/member fanpages, and we had all of like.... 50 friends. It’s really cool to know that a lot of you guys are still there, supporting us. And I love it when I get a message or a comment or someone that’s just like "Hey, I’ve been here for you since the beginning." or what have you.
I’ve met [virtually, and personally] some of the coolest people I would ever hope to meet through this site. You guys are really awesome to talk to, and I love hearing what everyone has to say. I honestly think that opening this site has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. It’s opened so many doors to meet so many people, it’s broadened my horizons for web design, it’s given me something awesome to do in my spare time, and most of all, it’s giving support back to the guy[s] who mean so much to us all, Alex Varkatzas and the rest of Atreyu. And I’m glad that everyone has gotten as in to the whole thing as they have.
You guys rock, and I love you each and every one of you. Really.
Peace, love, and rock.
-Lindsay @ AVF

In other news, Atreyu released their music video for "Falling Down" a couple of weeks ago [sorry for the lag].
I’ll be back later with more interesting things to tell you.

FRIDAY, MARCH 21, 2008 - TASTE OF CHAOS
Wow, I’ve been really busy lately. I’ve been to see Taste of Chaos three times, and all three time, Atreyu kicked ass. I went on Thursday, March 13 in Norfolk. Before the show, I saw Alex walking around. I told him who I was and that I ran AVF on MySpace and did AlexVarkatzas.Net and he was really sweet. He shook my hand and gave me hugs and we took pictures and stuff. [FYI, Alex smells AWESOME.] And I took a picture of Alex with my AVF/AV-NET sign!
Click here to see it. It was exciting. We told him that we were going to a lot of shows and he thought that was pretty awesome. I also got some pretty good videos that you can see
here. We went again on Saturday, March 15 in Asbury Park and Monday, March 17 in Fairfax. I may have some videos up later from that show. Atreyu was amazing live. So amazing that I’m going to see Taste of Chaos again on Monday, March 24 in Georgia. Hahahaha.
Also, I will have new pictures up in the gallery, soon. Charli has sent me a boatload that I haven’t had time to upload yet [I’m quite grounded].
So I hope to have those up soon, and maybe some other cool stuff. I don’t know. I’ll suprise you. :D

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2008 - NEW SITE LAYOUT & A-TEAM PRIVELEGES.
In case you missed it, there's a new layout up on AV-NET. I was sick of the old one that had been up for so long, so I've spent all day on this new one. I hope you like it.
Attention A-Team Members: There is a contest being held on the A-Team website for front-of-the-line passes to meet Atreyu. They will be signing at the Alternative Press booth on the Taste of Chaos tour, and 20 lucky A-Team members will receive passes to go to the front of that line at every show!
Click here for Taste of Chaos tour dates.
Now that everything in my life is almost completely back to normal, I've been able to clear out my inbox and can now receive e-mails again. So, if you have any questions or suggestions, new pictures for the website, interesting information, etc., feel free to hit me up on
varkatzass@gmail.com. I'm sorry if I missed your e-mails previously. My inbox was clogged with spam, and I was unable to get to everything. =[

THURSDAY, JANUARY 3, 2008 - NEW YEAR, NEW SITE
It's now 2008. Hip Hip Hooray. I feel I have finally gotten a grip on life and gotten my feet back on the ground. So that means I get to work on the site a lot, and much more than I have been. YAY! As I'm sure all of you know, Atreyu & Avenged Sevenfold are co-headlining the Taste of Chaos Tour this year. Expect to see some changes with AVF & Av-Net soon.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2007 - AN UNEXPECTED HIATUS.....
I would like to appologize to everyone. I haven't been able to update the site or even log in to our MySpace recently at all. I have been in the hospital for a while recently, and thus could not get on. Things are starting to get a little better now, and I hope to be working on the site with full force again soon. Again, I'm sorry, everyone. This was very unexpected for me, and I'm sorry it affected you guys.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 7, 2007 - ONE HELL OF A SUMMER
Wow, I haven't updated in a while. I have had a hell of a summer. It's been awful. BUT YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT! As I'm sure you all know, Atreyu's new album, Lead Sails, Paper Anchor, comes out August 28. Who's excited?! I know, I am. I was sent an interview in Kerrang Magazine a couple of weeks ago and never had a chance to post it.
Here it is. We also have new pictures up in the gallery, and hopefully new videos on the YouTube soon! PEACE.

THURSDAY, MAY 24, 2007 - GALLERY'S COMING DOWN
I regret to inform you, the gallery will be coming down for a couple of days. I'm reorganizing it. There will be sub-galleries for Live Photos, Candid Photos, and Photoshoots. I have realized that opening all of the pictures at once on one page slows down my internet drastically, and I have gotten similar complaints from other users. So I'm going to make more organized galleries, that I hope will be up this weekend or sometime shortly their after. Sorry for the inconvenience....

MONDAY, MAY 7, 2007 - RANDOM
Couple new fan-submitted photos. Screen Caps from 2 more videos. 'Bout it. Many of you have asked about Atreyu's tour dates and if they're going to tour other than Family Values. If you want to know about their tour dates, you can click
here. I don't know if they're going to tour other than Family Values or what other shows they may play. All I know of is what I've gotten from the A-Team. If I find out anything else, I will be sure to let you know.
Another announcement that everyone needs to read. Hotlinking. Hotlinking is when you use someone's photos on their surver. AKA you right click, go to Properties [or Copy Image Location if you use FireFox] and copy the URL, or open the image in a new window and copy the URL from the browser. I strongly discourage hotlinking. I've worked very hard to bring you all the Alex photos, icons, screen caps, etc. I can. I hosted it all in a PhotoBucket account. It took several several countless hours to upload the almost 700 photos I have in the PhotoBucket account. If you hotlink these photos, my bandwidth will be exceeded. This means the photos will no longer be viewable. If this happens, I am taking them down permanently. I'm not going to spend more time uploading these photos if you guys can't respect this simple request. Think about it.
That is all for now.
