"At the advanced age of 21, Alex Weed is a seasoned vet with a world-weary voice and a heart-breaking guitar." -Angela Jossy, The Weekly Volcano, July 12, 2007.
A young, rising blues star, Alex is quickly being discovered by clubs, festivals and audiences nationwide. Equally fluent in acoustic Delta Blues and electric R&B and Soul, he has been finding his own unique style as he splits his time between the road and studying on scholarship at the Berklee College of Music. His soulful, Otis Reddingesque vocals and fingerstyle blues guitar are not to be missed.

"One on this year’s bill is Alex Weed, a 21-year-old guitarist from Anchorage. Weed went into a studio and recorded 10 songs on first takes. ‘I listened to it, and it was absolutely amazing,’ Brown recalled. He was especially moved by Weed’s blues version of “Walk the Line” by Johnny Cash. ‘I got shivers from it,’ he remarked…‘The surprise of the show.’”-Ted Brown, Tacoma Old Town Blues Festival (John Larson, Tacoma Weekly July 12, 2007)
