Singer-songwriter ALFA credits her love of music to family, who surrounded her early childhood with Filipino folk songs, church hymns and duets around the piano in the church where her grandfather preached. Years later and half a world away, the hobby stuck. After formal studies in piano and violin, Alfa began songwriting, taught herself guitar and cut her first demo at the age of 15. Known for her raspy voice and onstage charisma, she learned to embrace the stage as a student at NYU, polishing her chops in venues all over New York City and opening for such acts as The Rembrandts, Geneva Cruz/Rachel Alejandro and Mike Hanopol. Comfortable playing solo and with her band, Alfa has toured to cities across the country and recently claimed the Grand Prize at Kollaboration Acoustic 3 in L.A. Her full-length debut album, "Second Skin" is available on iTunes, Amazon and her official website, www.alfa-music.com.
