Following the successful release of his previous album “Tranquillità” on Warner Music and a career that launched him internationally with tours in the US, Europe and Asia, ALFIO is back with a new album, “CLASSIC REWINDS”. This album pays tribute to the artists who shaped and formed his passion for music and features 15 tracks from classic artists of Italian-American background such as Mario Lanza, Perry Como, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Frankie Valli, Bon Jovi, and more. ALFIO recorded an eclectic mix of classics for this album, choosing some songs that haven’t been heard in many years and that make one’s heart melt as they are re-discovered all over again. Songs like “Papa Loves Mambo” which sets the stage for a fun, feel-good collection of songs, “Where Do I Begin” showcases his vocal range from a soft timbre one minute to a full bravado the next, even Bon Jovi’s “Always” is included, as the album brings mainstream sensibility to the millions of contemporary fans around the world. As he pays tribute to his fellow countrymen on “CLASSIC REWINDS”, ALFIO, an accomplished musician and songwriter, has included a few songs he wrote such as “Voce Pura”, a beautiful song written for Luciano Pavarotti after ALFIO met and dined with him in late 2005. Sung in “pure voice,” this song is a loving tribute to the Maestro.
