Born in Guatemala City in 1977, Alfredo Cáceres has three records featured as a composer, arranger and co-producer : Incienso (flamenco) 1998, Baracá (Latin-american-guitar) 2003, and with the band Siroko the album ¨Mestisaje¨(jazz-flamenco) 2004. He has collaborated with well-known international musicians like Ed Calle, Joey Heredia , Dan Warren, Walfredo Reyes Junior, Bob Parr, Sean McCurley, John Beasley.. Winner of the 1st. National Jazz Composition Contest in 2004 with his composition ¨Colores Urbanos¨. This event was organized the the Mexican Embassy in Guatemala and the annual Antigua Jazz Fest of 2004. Among the jury were important musical personalities from Mexico, Canada and Guatemala like Eugenio Toussaint, Germán Giordano and Bill Welychka. Alfredo has attended many courses and master classes with internationally acclaimed guitarists like Miguel Angel Cortés, Niño de Pura, Antonio Carmona, Juan Manuel Cañizares , Manolo SanLúcar, Eduardo Rebollar and Fareed Haque, thanks to the scholarship received from the Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation, in Seville, Spain. He also attended a special course with maestro Rafael Cañizares, in December of 2004 in Barcelona and also studied the Flamenco compas and palmas for two years with the legendary Flamenco dancer and percussionist Manolo Soler. He has played in several bands, ranging from Jazz to Flamenco Latin or Pop and has collaborated in more than 50 recordings in different Guatemalan and international productions with singers, gingles and other musicians. This year he was invited to be part of III Iberoamerican Guitar Festival dedicated to brazilian composer Heitor Villalobos, representing Guatemala at the festival. At the moment he is part of the Karina Velasco’s Flamenco Company “Cuatro Caminos Arts & Flamenco “ and the Russ Hewitt Band.//
