2004
Alfresco was lauched in Mid summer and began its life as an outdoor party which mixed extreme sports with a 1500 capacity open air House music event. The extreme sports side to Alfresco gave birth to the first ever televised wakeboard night slide event which pulled in the best wakeboarders on the planet. It was shown on Sky sports & Extreme sports in 63 countries around the globe and helped push the sport of wake boarding to where it is today.As far as the open air party that ran during and after the wake boarding competition goes, lets just say you came, you danced and for a few hours all of our worries vanished into distant memories. As the sun set and night fall kicked in everyone there began the same journey into a magical evening that none of us will ever forget. The Dj's included the likes of Danny Rampling, Seb Fontaine, Pete Walshe, Steve Lee & Glen Scott just to name a few. The event pulled in around 1200 people not including all the wakeboarders and Alfresco staff, With them added it was around the 1400 people mark. It was set on an island in the middle of the lakes which surround Thope park in 2 massive tents and the sobe bus. The tents were kitted out with state of the art sounds, lighting & lasers + the very best dancers/break dancers around. It was finished off with decor to die for to create that perfect setting for a night that would stick out in the minds of everyone there. 2005
Alfresco returned to Thorpe lakes in mid summer 05 for the 2nd installment. This year Pete introduced the first ever wakeboard high jump event to the ever growing competition schedule. He also installed the Red bull half pipe and pulled in some of the worlds best skaters & BMX'ers to wow the crowds. Alfresco had its biggest budget to date & a new 2000 capacity licence from the powers that be at the local council. The TV crews were back to film the whole thing for future broadcast + this year Pete secured sponsership from Red bull, Oakley, Smirnoff ice & Gravis. Dj's for the event included Seb Fontaine, Pete Walshe, Brandon Block + many of the DJ's from Mint 101.5Fm the station Pete had his very popular friday afternoon drivetime radio show. Again it was an amazing party dispite the heavy rain which saw raindrops bouncing 3 foot in the air as they hit the lake surface. The night was a complete success for the 2nd year running and pulled in a whopping 1900 people just shy of its 2000 capacity. Nearly 2000 people jam packed into the marquee's as the heavens opened all around us for another night that will stick out in all our minds for many years to come.Below is just a hand of the hundreds of pics from the night.
2006
Thorpe did not happen this year as Pete was in ibiza having meetings to take Alfresco on tour. Watch this space as its looking like 2 years worth of talks to take Alfresco to ibiza are about to come good. Alfresco came indoors for the first time this year with a few smaller events in Windsor, Chertsey & Ashford. Pete was disappointed he did'nt have the time to throw Alfresco in thorpe this year so in mid summer 2006 Pete lent a massive helping hand to Dj Fingers (Peppermint Parties) to help make there annual Picnic in the park for cancer research the massive success it was. 2007
Alfresco was on hold for 2007 as Pete was working in the studio on a few projects that he'd been putting off. As far as events go for this year pete put all his energy into helping his close friends at Peppermint. With the combined efforts of Alfresco & Peppermint Parties the lads pulled off the biggest open air house event in west london. Picnic in the park 07 pulled in just over 4000 people and for the first time in 3 years of outdoor events the lads struck gold and picked the hottest day of the year. Alfresco saw the rest of the year out with a few small events with Pete making big plans for Alfresco 2008.
2008
The year is being kicked off in style with a series off events in Windsors no1 night spot Vanilla with Alfresco residents Pete Walshe, Stacey Tough, DJ Fingers, Dj Pablo & Martin Mayhem to be joined by very special guests Danny Rampling on 11 April & Greame Park on the 9th May. Watch out for future dates and special guest Dj's to be announced shortly. Watch this space we'll wont keep you waiting long.
