After many years and several transformations, Alf is back!
"Alf presents us with a balanced sentimentalism coupled with acoustic pop that is awash with surf themes and experiences." - Jaz, OzMusicProject.
A constant piece of the Brisbane music scene’s furniture during the early millennium, Alf cut his teeth playing as a solo artist alongside peers such as Women in Docs, Pete Murray, Gorgeous, Asa Broomhall and Kate Miller-Heidke.
Playing his brand of acoustic surf tunes before they were made mainstream by the likes of Jack Johnson and Donovan Frankenrieter, Alf received generous exposure through his live solo release Alf Live (2000).
The bands ‘ALF’ and ‘NEBO’ soon formed around the solo artist. Extensive touring and the release of 2 EPs followed; ‘Tic Toc’ (2001), ‘Sarah Tone In’ (2002) and one full length album ‘Along the Way’ (2003). All receiving national radio play and critical acclaim.
Now, one of the countries most underrated singer/songwriters is out and about again. Accompanied by original bass player Brad Jackson and drummer Jason Firkin (Namaste Jake) driving the rhythm section. The three piece are ready to hit the live scene again with new attitude and material.
“I was shattered when NEBO unofficially called it quits, although I needed a break from music, a huge part of my life seemed to essentially be over. Now I can’t wait to get back on stage and have another crack, just for the pure joy of playing.” Frontman Alf states.
Material that is thought provoking and emotive combined with insanity inducing hooks; Alf is a must see for all fans of the acoustic singer/songwriter. Think along the lines of Leonard Cohen meeting Pearl Jam on the beach for an early morning surf and you will not be disappointed. Burleigh Heads 6 to 8 foot. from Geoff A Charters on Vimeo.

Hey guys, yes, it has been quite some time, so thanks for getting in touch... You still gigging etc..?
I've been touring overseas a lot & relocated from Byron Bay to Sydney this year & all is flowing brilliantly down there... I just landed the hero lead role in a Martial Arts/Zombie feature film due for cinema release next year, so I'm stoked!!! In acting I alway thought I'd only get 'bad' guy roles, but there you go, uh?
Got a new album release this year too, so the creative juices are in full throttle...
Thank you for your support and friendship! Please help us spread awareness about the plight of the Kimberley. We cannot allow this beautiful land to be spoiled by industrialization and greed! Right now it is critical for us to stand up and be heard by the politicians of this state, selling out our heritage and wilderness to OS developers. Don't let this happen! Invite all your friends and share our battle.
