Since coming to Nashville in 1990, Al has been performing and recording continuosly on Dobro, lap steel, and Hawaiian steel.
He's played the stages of the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, and is featured regularly at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
Live performances have included gigs with
Leftover Salmon, Hayseed Dixie, Pam Gadd, Valerie Smith, Julie Lee,
Molly Thomas, Malcolm Holcombe, and Buddy Spicher.
Recent studio work has had
Al recording with
Fats Kaplan (Richard Stooksbury),
Jellyroll Johnson, and Gillian Welch (Jordan Chassan).
Al teaches Dobro as well and is on the faculty at Belmont Academy of Music.

My dearest sweethearts ... I have something important to say ... I have just obtained my Bc. degree, that is why I was not by your side for a long while and one more thing ... today I am leaving for Armenia and Georgia for three months to help with some disabled children, so please dont remove me from your friends list, because I am so glad I know you all.
