I'm a comedian but that doesn't mean I'm always funny.
I'm married to my favourite person in the world.
Here are some things that I am doing:
The World In One City Project
This is what I'm most excited about at the moment. My friend Owen Powell and myself are trying to find someone from every country in the world currently living in Greater London. We're racing two guys doing the same thing in New York. It's fun. Click here (or here) to see how we're getting on...
On January 18th 2007 I did a gig in Second Life, a Virtual World that some of you will know about and most of you won't. It's a fun place. I was filmed by Sky News. It's a fun place. It's a bit awkward now though because Jimmy Carr did a gig there two weeks later and is now going in the Guinness Book of Records as being the first comedian to do a gig in Second Life. I don't really know what to do. Here are the Sky News pieces - you might want to scroll on a bit unless you like news items about things like 'malicious codes':
When I perform I sometimes do this. Some people have asked me to stick a clip of it up. So I have. This might help me to stop doing it:
I'm not quite sure what to say about this but yes, that's me, no, I didn't write it, and no, they didn't give me lots of wkd after:
THE SOCK PROJECT (currently on hold):
I only performed once in Edinburgh this year. However, during this performance I did end up swapping a sock with a particularly involved audience member. It seemed like the right thing to do.
After that I went to South Africa. There I decided that swapping socks is as good a sign of friendship as any. I therefore decided to try to continue swapping socks at as many gigs as possible.
At my first gig back in London I swapped the original Scottish sock with a sock belonging to an Australian called Elliot. Sock No.1 will soon be making its first (probably) trip down under. Where will Elliot's sock end up? See below for regular updates...
STOP PRESS: Due to the fact that sometimes it's better to 'tell jokes' than 'swap socks', I'm currently not swapping socks with audience members. This is not to say I'll never swap socks with people again, but for now I'm content to keep my original socks and allow audience members to do the same. Thank you.
I still don't know if this is a good idea or a very bad idea. But I have now got into the habit of swapping socks with strangers and am now even swapping socks with people I know. Like Rick Edwards, presenter of Channel 4 Radio's Glory Box. I'll obviously try to swap his 'celebrity sock' with another extremely well known person. But in the meantime, if you want to get your hands on Rick Edwards' sock, I'm sure I could do a postal swap sock. Message me and we'll swap addresses then socks:

My simpering but hugely talented assistant Tim Key celebrated his thirtieth birthday recently by being surprised on a farm. Here are a few snaps of the hour long 'Tim Key' cabaret show staged by Phill Breen, Fiona, Hamish and many others, featuring Julian Fox and Owen Powell, Day Macaskill, Bill Key and the Cowards, and hot new band, Brian Blessed and the Journey Through Time...

Mark Watson has performed three wonderful and very long shows at the last few Edinburgh festivals. Here is an edited highlights package I made of the last one:
And here is an edited highlights package I made of the second last one:
This is a link to an article I wrote for The Times about internet comedy. It seems appropriate, if a bit boastful, to mention it here... (unfortunately I couldn't get a link to The Times to work so this will hopefully take you to my blog where I've republished it)CLICKHERE
This is a short film made for an unique event called Live In My Lounge (2005) - a "Stand Up Spectacular" hosted by Mr Phillip Breen in his flat with the help of Mr Mike Toller.
It was a success.
I had the honour of closing the "Stand Up Spectacular" so with the help of Mr Tim Key set up this "Prank" the week before. After breaking into Mr Breen's flat, we ran amok...
These are the results that we presented that night:
Part I: The Preparation.
Part II: The Job.
What happened next was a surprise and a secret.
In 2004 Tim Key and I did an Edinburgh show about Body Language called Every Body Talks. The World Star Ken Dodd helped. Here are his Slapstick tips:

Finally, here's a pelican eating a pigeon (I'm doing a birdwatching project).
