I'll try and keep this short....this is my music page. I did an album in late 2005/early 2006 when I was lucky enough to have quite a lot of access to a nice studio in Birmingham, England where I'm from. It was with a label called Incubator Records which was a pretty spectacular project associated with South Birmingham College. The album was called 'ONE' (and it still is) and I gigged and promoted it to the best of my abilities (which aren't considerable). I'm now finishing off writing bits and pieces of songs that have been floating around with me for a while. These will appear eventually as 'SECOND HAND', my next album that I hope to record here in Sweden after the summer. The songs 'Good Things' and 'Footnote' on this page will feature. It's more folky than the first album, which was a kind of showreel for all the different styles I think I can do, soul, pop, rock, country. 'SECOND HAND' will be more like a story (I hope). Might be a complete disaster, I hope not.
If you like my music enough to actually want a cd then go on cd baby and order it or if you can't be bothered to do that, send me a message on here and I might put one in the post to you depending on how many padded envelopes I have. As mentioned I live in Sweden with my wife in a house which is nice. I don't take myself seriously and I'm not trying to change the world with my music. I'd just like to write some nice songs. Hi there Al, hope you're well.. I remember all the moons! Album comes out as a download mid-march and we're doing a few release gigs to celebrate, although I'm afraid we're not stretching as far as Sweden as yet.. Not wishing to turn a personal message into marketing but we set up a facebook group which acts like a mailing list if you're interested in releases, gig dates and all that stuff, keeping it all in once place helps me keep on top of things, there's a link from mikehalliwell. com... Oh yes! I just made it. It's a bit tricky to make things look cool on myspace. You just have to forget everything you know about html-design, cause there ain't no rules here.
