the only matter still
quality and emotion
My story begins in Toulouse, a city in the south of France .
Early on, my parents encouraged me to follow my passion.
I started studying music at the age of five, and went on to the French conservatory when I was seven years old.
I left the program when I was eleven, stopping only six months away from graduating.
Clearly I didn’t want to fit a mold…
I did nothing about my music until I turned 14.
By then, I thought I knew everything there was to know about music, as my professors said so.
Of course I was wrong.
I quickly understood it was all bullshit when I was invited to my first jam session.
I innocently asked, "What is a ‘jam session’?"
I couldn’t believe my ears! I discovered it was possible
to improvise, creating melodies that come from
deep inside: half from the mind, half from the heart.
Immediately the challenge brought me back to the game.
I started playing music in bars and little jazz cafes, searching myself and testing my abilities to create while playing live.
That became the leitmotif of my life.
Younger, I had studied clarinet but it was completely wrong for the music I was made for.
So I bought a saxophone instead putting aside other teenage wants, and really focusing on music.
It had taken over my life, and I had become a veritable addict!
I was playing about 8 hours a day until I turned 21 and decided to share my talent.
I integrated dozens of band until I found "Marie et les Antoine’s" my first school of life.
Everything felt like I was in a movie,
Hundreds of live gigs every year, groupies, drugs;
I became an adult as quickly as a shooting star.
During that time I had been testing myself and my capacities in everyway that was offered to me.
I started to sing, I learned piano, I began composing, I would program, I did drums… I couldn’t stop for fear of facing reality and becoming everything but a musical genius.
at the age of 24, I signed my first artist deal with humandata/EMI and release my first record.
My band was Cherry Bomb.
Two years later I signed with Polydor for a solo album,
which thrust me directly in the frontlines of the R&B market in France.
That’s when I started a new career as a producer.
I began working with people like,
Delavoix, Jane Fostin, Passi, Peeda, Laure Milan,
China Moses, Jalane, Jackie (Neg Marron), Jamel (feat Snoop), Slai, Peter Kingsberry,
Shola Ama, Sofiane, Larusso, Zhané, Ophélie Winter, Bambi Cruz, MC Solaar, High School Musical 1 etc.
I signed for a second solo with BMG
That same year I founded my company and label
Doggy Bag with my actual business partner, X.P.
We’ve produced many different artists, some successfully, other, not so much.
Two years later I was blessed with the greatest success of all:
A baby boy.
With the birth of my son,
For the first time of my life I felt I was complete.
The show went on, I created Silvercab with two partners,
A band composed of different influences.
We licensed it to Sony.
The single had a real press success.
In parallel, the single was featured in advertisements.
In 2008,
The album was released.
As of today, 2009, I am working on my third solo, a double album (in English) and an album in French, to be released in September 2009.
I'm still workin on several production products for the french market, such as Slai ( “Leçon particulière”), Larusso (“Comme toi”), and Jorell (“French Kiss”).
