I love Music in every form except some of the stuff teenagers like to listen to. I have from Vivaldi to Patsy Cline on my playlist, and really couldn't honestly say which end of the scale would be my favorite. Although lately it's Country Music all the way, for a couple of years, been writing Country songs, although lots of my lyrics can by sung in different genres and sound good either way. Love singing to Patsy Cline and Roy Orbison and just about everyone who sings, but don't call myself a singer because I don't have time to devote to singing, and there are already so many fabulous singers!!
Movies
"The Sound of Music" HAHAHA - do we see a pattern here? But seriously, I just don't take time off from working for movies or TV very often.
Television
Little House on the Prairie {Country Girl}, The Highlander, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Smallville
Books
There are very few writers who I'll read everything they produce, primarily Sidney Sheldon. There are many good writers - but I hope that I will become your favorite writer!! :-)
Heroes
God
My Mom and Dad, good solid Country people who raised us with a firm hand and lots of love and encouragement.
Walt Disney - had to go hat in hand to the banks for his first projects, got turned down over and over.
Mark Twain and Shakespeare - Two self-published writers who 'made it.'
Irving Berlin and all the other songwriters who sold their songsheets in public for a few pennies apiece.
I'm a novelist and a biographer, my latest book is about Iowa man Don Tietz, called One American Dreamer and billed as a 'Biographical Novel.' Have my first Children's book submitted to NorthWord Press in Minnesota right now, and have my fingers cro
About me: These very talented young singers are called 'Angel Voices' for very good reasons. They're marvellous, and this is one of my all time favorite songs:
Why don't you take a few minutes out of your busy day to treat yourself to one or more of these beautiful little Inspirational Movies by Mary Robinson Reynolds. A spot of Peace no matter what's going on around you:

PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT THIS MESSAGE FROM YOUNG SEVERN SUZUKI ADDRESSING THE UNITED NATIONS IN 1992 - DID ANYTHING REALLY CHANGE IN THE LAST DECADE AND A HALF?
I don't usually make political statements here or anywhere else, but I would vote for this young lady for President of the World tomorrow. She shares the same thoughts and visions I do:
I've just gotten the link for my first ever online radio interview. Just listen through the introduction, a man's voice and then some beautiful instrumental music, then Judyth Piazza of the Student Operated Press and myself.
I'm a Canadian, living close to the Rocky Mountains in Calgary, Canada. They call this place both Nashville North and Hollywood North. I'm a writer, which includes songwriting, poetry, two fiction books and one 'biographical novel' published so far. One American Dreamer, about Iowa man Donald Tietz, is my latest book. Released in October 2005.
Right now I'm really excited by Canadian singer/songwriter Ross Kennedy recording a song we co-wrote, Lonnie Ratliff in Nashville producing one of my songs for his catalog, Robert Clarkson right now working on a demo of my song "Tell Myself You Never Mattered" to put on Soundclick, and Dave Beckom working with me on "Learn to Survive." A local Calgary singer, Joanna Crosse, contacted me recently and has expressed interest in recording some of my songs, and I'm very much looking forward to working with Joanna!
Bill Littleton and Lonnie et al have been very helpful in helping me try to bend myself from being a poet to being a songwriter, and I'm doing my best to get the hang of it. Also very proud to be considered a member of the 'Stardust Family' headed by Colonel Buster Doss of Nashville and Winchester, Tennessee, who very sadly died in August 2006. I still haven't been able to bring myself to participate in the Stardust message board since we lost Colonel Buster. I guess it was just too much for me to lose my Dad and Colonel Buster in the space of a few months.
I'm a Mom with a capital M, seven children ranging in age from 33 to 10 at the moment, with my sixth grandchild due on Valentine's Day 2007. Some days I think I should just dye my hair grey to suit my Gramma status, but then look at my youngest boys still at home and dye it flaming burgundy or something to keep me thinking young. :-)
I played a Saloon Girl in the new Robert Duvall mini-series released on the AMC Network on June 25th & 26th 2006 in the US, was called Daughters of Joy but they changed the name to Broken Trail. Directed by Robert Hill, starring Robert Duvall, Chris Mulkey, Thomas Hayden-Church, and Olivia Cheng. Also in the stands in a current football movie called Comeback Season, haven't seen it, dont know too much about it, just a 'featured extra.'
By now, New Year's Eve 2006, I've been in eight different movie and TV projects, and am actually a character in a German TV Movie Series called Blue Mountain. The episode I'm in is called "Legacy of Love," I'm the 'Bar Mistress.' I'm also in the audience in Ressurecting the Champ with Samuel L. Jackson, being released on New Year's Day 2007. If you look for me in that, I'm in a kind of sexy black outfit with black hair past my shoulders.
I'm primarily a writer, with three published books, I 'Google' real well, just put Alice C. Bateman into any search engine, most of them bring up at least something! It always amazes me that every single day, somewhere in the world, there are people doing just that, looking me up in the search engines.
I'm currently working on two new book projects, one about problem gambling and addiction and one for children. Mostly in my head so far, but I plan to get a lot more actually written over the next couple of months.
That's probably enough for now, once I fill in as much as I have patience for on here, you'll know all about me - and if that doesn't help, read my work! :-) Some people have actually been known to even buy my books! :-)
Wishing Love and Blessings to All,
Alice C. Bateman

WOW, I'm so thrilled to have found this golden clip on YouTube, Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner, who very sadly passed on two days ago, on October 28th 2007. This is a bit longer than my other videos here, but I laughed out loud so many times and loved every second of this. Hope y'all enjoy this as much as I do, I'm gonna watch it again right now. :-)
.. I was looking for a clip of Robert Duvall accepting his Emmy for Best Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries for Broken Trail {four Emmy Awards!!} and found this clip of Mr. Duvall singing a beautiful duet with Emmy Lou Harris. I had no idea Robert Duvall sang too! Didn't find the clip I wanted, but I love this!..

A customer at Morris' Gourmet Grocery marveled at the proprietor's quick wit and intelligence.
"Tell me, Morris, what makes you so smart?"
"I wouldn't share my secret with just anyone," Morris replies, lowering his voice so the other shoppers won't hear, "But since you're a good and faithful customer, I'll let you in on it. Fish heads. You eat enough of them, you'll be positively brilliant."
"You sell them here?" the customer asks. "Only $4 apiece," says Morris.
The customer buys three. A week later, he's back in the store complaining that the fish heads were disgusting and he isn't any smarter. "You didn't eat enough, " says Morris.
The customer goes home with 20 more fish heads. Two weeks later, he's back and this time he's really angry. "Hey, Morris," he says, "You're selling me fish heads for $4 apiece when I just found out I can buy the whole fish for $2.
Hi Alice...I tried three times to open your page but it won't load. Eminem is singing a song from your page, but I can't find his video or him on your songlist...mysteries never cease here on myspace. Hope all is well, I haven't heard from you in awhile. I'm thinking about reading your book again, loved it the first time. All the best, Arlene Faith
