With a childhood characterized by dysfunction, Alicia Angel began her escape from reality, through the arts, at the age of six when she began writing songs and booking jobs in print, film, and video. Aspirations of securing a career as a recording artist and songwriter followed Alicia throughout her youth as she used songwriting as an outlet and spent much of her time vocally emulating artists such as Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, and Whitney Houston. At the age of 14, she was accepted into a performing arts high school, as a vocal major, where she was classically trained and learned music theory. The same year Alicia began to more seriously pursue a career in music and began working with a vocal coach and producer in NYC and recorded her first song.
Her determination and talent have since intensified and now Alicia’s music demonstrates a sound that could only be achieved by an industry veteran. Though she boasts a voice that is often described as angelic, her smooth, yet sultry tone emanates a soulful quality that’s revealed time and time again as it shines through her distinctive R&B meets pop style. Conveying an image that is as authentic and encompassing of substance as it is alluring, Alicia captures a fresh vibe within her art that falls nothing short of undeniable, buzz worthy, talent that begs listeners to rock with her.
Alicia's songs have also become more lyrically advanced and far more personal. Now the reality that she used music to escape from has become part of the music itself. Alicia is involved in V-Day, a global movement to end violence against women and girls that was founded by playwright Eve Ensler. Through V-Day, she visits girls who live in a safe house in Kenya to escape female circumcision and early marriage. Deeply inspired by their stories, Alicia wrote a song for them called, "Beauty You'll Remain," which she hopes will one day raise money and awareness about violence against women and girls.
Alicia's lyrics range from ballads like, "Survivor," that tell the story of her own struggle as a child to songs like "Beauty You'll Remain," that witness the pain and suffering of strong, African girls to lighter, catchy up-tempo tracks like "Addicted" and “Fell in Love”, inspired by her personal experiences and relationships. Some of her more recently recorded songs like, “Free,” and “You Make Me Feel,” which prove Alicia’s growth, vocally as well as lyrically, were recorded at the Barbershop Studios with Grammy award winning producer/Engineer, Tony Black and with producer, Scott Treibitz.
Alicia plans to continue in her singing/songwriting efforts, creating songs intended for listeners to relate.
"If someone hears one of my songs and recognizes him or herself within my lyrics," Alicia says, "then I know I've done my job as a songwriter."
Alicia is currently writing songs for other artists, while hoping to expand her songwriting to other genres. Alicia vows that in the meantime she will write and record her own songs with the purpose of "motivating, inspiring, raising awareness, and reaching people." She adds, "That's what I feel compelled to do and it's a gift that I can do it through music. I'm really driven."
Driven, she is, and seeking more opportunities to advance her career and allow it to explode into full flight as she makes her mark on the industry.

I know that many artists from North America don't have their music videos uploaded to German video websites. The most popular websites are MyVideo.de and ClipFish.de. That means your European audience does not have the chance to find them.
I understand that most of you don't speak German and are not able to upload videos because of the language barrier. If you would like me to upload your videos to the German video websites, please let me know.
Thanks
Christian
