Alicia Kay, a traditional country sweetheart with a velvet voice, has been warming audiences’ hearts for over a decade with her unique, powerful performances. The twenty-one year old has already had a prolific career thus far in popular venues throughout the Midwest and Southeastern United States. A rare talent, her career continues to blossom as she has become a favorite front woman and opening act among legendary country stars such as Vern Gosdin, Connie Smith, and Merle Haggard.
Alicia completed her second album in the spring of 2002. She has been working steadily since on gathering new material, including her own originals to embark on a new recording project in early 2007. She is a songwriter’s dream as she provides strikingly mature performances of timeless material. Her strong musical and personal sense of identity allows her to break hearts with tender, emotional ballads and in the next breath light up the stage with a fun loving rendition of a tune such as “Love’s Gonna Live Here Again.”
Since moving to Nashville to be part of the music scene she’s longed for all her life, she’s made memorable appearances at venues such as Tootsies, The Stage, The Nashville Palace, John A’s, Legends, The Preston Hotel, Robert’s Western World, and many others (including working out harmonies in her living room with regular singing partner Vern Gosdin). After an Alicia Kay performance, one can always expect to hear shouts from wowed audience members for “One More!”
Along with being an outstanding vocalist and performer, Alicia is also a gifted songwriter. She has been a featured songwriter at some of Nashville’s hottest songwriter arenas and has already begun gaining respect among the local community for her promise and remarkable talent.
