My debut YA novel, PSYCH MAJOR SYNDROME, is in stores! In PSYCH MAJOR SYNDROME, Leigh is a freshman in college who has decided to major in psychology, even though her tarot-reading parents wish she would study something a little less earthly. When it comes to psychoanalysis, she's on top of her game . . . when it comes to self-awareness, not so much.
In her first semester alone, Leigh deals with ultra-competitive psych majors in her classes and a smartmouthed teenage girl she has to "mentor" (if you can call it that) for a project. She can't figure out why her high school boyfriend doesn't ever ask her to spend the night, and she REALLY can't figure out why his roommate shows up in her dreams. Who knows what Freud would make of that, but Leigh has an idea of her final diagnosis: Psych Major Syndrome. It's what happens when you spend too much time analyzing life, and not enough time living it.
And yes, I was a major psycho. Er, psych major. Sorry, Freudian slip. ;)
