Sounds Like

“Weezer fans will flip over this Seattle outfit’s jolt of pure, adrenalized pop.”
-- Boston Phoenix
“Energetic, crunchy guitar pop, bursting with harmonies and hooks.” -- Alternative Press
Alien Crime Syndicate is like the afternoon you find a $100 bill. The hot rod with cream leather you won for the weekend. Think Charlie's Angels with better balls, tongues in cheeks, and combs in pockets. Amplified.
Rock radio bible CMJ touts our power rock outfit as future jukebox heroes, but thousands of those pre-ordained quarters have been pumping long before this. Alien Crime Syndicate brought their stratospheric big rock to stages from coast to coast, sharing the bill with rock & roll pipe bombs like Weezer, Andrew W.K., Sugar Ray, American Hi-Fi, Girls Against Boys, Everclear and Local H.
The ACS spinal cord is Joe Reineke. Once the brainchild and dirty virtuoso of San Francisco's beloved pop-punk combo The Meices, 1997 found this anthem-laden fellow relocated to Los Angeles and on his own. Never a professor to leave the lab for long, Reineke and bassist Jeff Rouse soon begin operating ACS.
After picking up the dropped jaws of label weasels as well as the services of famed Record Producer Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters), Seattle ultimately proved the port for their storm when they acquired drummer/record entrepreneur Nabil Ayers.
ACS helped resuscitate the west-coast with monster live shows and albums to match. The self-titled five-song CD EP and debut full-length Dust To Dirt came out in 2000. They both took off. The song "Take Me To Your Leader" was a modern rock fave, and sung back to them by lungs and lips of all ages. Seattle's Will Records then released the original Gil Norton production, "From The Word Go;" it was clear the band was ascending just as it should.
In 2002 they ignited 11 tracks on "XL From Coast To Coast." Released by V2 Records/The Control Group, the album's feature single "Ozzy" received massive commercial airplay while appearing in MTV's "The Osbournes" as approved by Sharon herself. Contributing sparking songs to feature films and TV shows for MTV, ESPN, and CBS, our lads then made the road their home, touring the U.S. and writing new material constantly into 2003.
Now it's 2004, and never has a knife felt so at home in your back.
"TEN SONGS IN THE KEY OF BETRAYAL" is the latest from ACS. Swiveling in their recording studio thrones to once again greet the legendary Gil Norton (fresh from his work with The Distillers), Joe, Jeff, Nabil and Gil built a chromed and beautifully tough album about the needs of rock and roll, the pitfalls of hustler life and how to make every day feel like Friday night. Full of heavy guitars and hooks that will send you to re-hab, every track is tailored to fit. “Ten Songs In The Key Of Betrayal” is loyal to their legendary live shows and to the fans that continually support them. Every show, in every city.
ACS spent early 2004 supporting Pixies on some of their first reunion shows, and playing with the Killers. Most recently spent August & September touring the US & Europe with Tommy Stinson (Replacements) both opening for Tommy, and as his backing band.
Atmosphere!!!!!!!!! i remeber yer first show at the Doll Hut. greatest show since the meices. Dirty Bird is still fantastic! Scrimmage Heroes used to cover the "big shit burger".
