About Alien Dream

The idea for the Alien Dream project was originally concieved in the realm that I occupied prior to materialising here on earth in this body. 26 years later, in 1994, I was working at a recording studio here in South Australia and started messing around with their new Korg Wavestation. Several spaced out tracks were recorded to 3 reels of 1/2 inch tape. Those boxed reels now elevate my computer monitor about 2 to 3 inches off the table top. However two tracks from those sessions (Fire Dance and Rain Chant) were released in the year 2000 on the self titled album Alien Dream. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Serious recording for the first Alien Dream album (Alien Dream) commenced mid 1999 and was independently released at CD Services in the year 2000. Since then several albums have been completed. 2001 - Dogon Dance. 2003 - Eleven Realms of Night. 2004 - Samsara. 2004 - The Chaotic Nature of Infinity. 2005 - Lucid Dream. 2006 - Infinity AD. A new album should be released sometime this year. (2008) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In 2003 Michael travelled to Northern England to enjoy some time away at the 2nd Hawkwind private festival where he also performed a 40 minute set of Alien Dream music with Tom Byrne. Also flew over to beautiful Amsterdam while I was so close to catch an extra Hawkwind concert at the Melkweg and to meet up with Alisa (Space Mirrors) and Arjen (Ayreon). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael joined Space Mirrors in 2002 playing guitar and bass guitar - Space Mirrors is an international band with special guests such as Arjen Lucassen, Nik Turner, Amber, Cyndee Lee Rule, Metatron & Martyr Lucifer. We have released two CD's with our third album to be released sometime in 2008. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When Michael isn't working on new musical ideas, recording or mixing he can be found painting interesting mandala style images. In 1994 Michael was provided with a financial grant from the Adelaide Carclew Youth Arts Centre to present an exhibition of his artwork in their venue for two weeks and then again a few months after that. Kevin Brown	May 30 2008 12:26 PM Hi Micheal, Glad ya liked the Celestial Mass, it's a wonder that thing even exists anymore. I recorded it onto cassette from the original reel-to-reel recording 30 years ago, & the reel-to-reel recording was ruined in a basement flood not too long after that. So I had that cassette with a few of those tracks sitting around for ages, until I got my hands on a tascam that could digitalize from cassettes. To make a short story even longer, the audio isn't as good as the original, although the subtle waves of weirdness still subliminally remain!
