Michael was born Vancouver Canada in the auspicious year of nineteen sixty eight when his father was working on completing a college degree in Chiropractic. From nineteen seventy to nineteen seventy four the family lived in Davenport Iowa where Michaels brother, Stuart, was born (nineteen seventy one). In the fine year of nineteen seventy four the family moved to Australia - the birthplace of Michaels mother. Michaels father was born Southampton England. He and his siblings and mother moved to Australia during the 2nd world war where his father later joined the family after the war. Later on in nineteen eighty the family once again moved to the U.S.A. (this time South Carolina) where his Mother would study to become a Chiropractor. Michael spent the majority of his high school years in South Carolina. It was during those years that Michael would develop an interest in a wide variety of musical genres and also begin playing the guitar and to dream about creating interesting psychedelic recordings especially after hearing the Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix. In nineteen eighty six Michael moved back to Australia living in New South Wales for a short period of time before moving to Queensland then to Victoria then to Alice Springs in the Northern Territory then finally to Adelaide South Australia in nineteen ninety where he currently resides. Nineteen ninety two was the year that Michael met Roy 'Spider' Godfrey, owner of the Seventh Wave recording studio, and developed a serious interest in recording music.
From nineteen ninety three to nineteen ninety four Michael studied audio engineering at the School of audio engineering with the purpose of gaining a better understanding of the recording process in order to record his own sounds and to begin the Alien Dream project. In nineteen ninety four Michael was awarded a grant to hold an exhibitions of his abstract artwork at the Carclew youth centre. In nineteen ninety nine the Alien Dream project finally began serious recording and by the end of that year the first Alien Dream album was completed. Alien Dream, and the subsequent albums, receieved glowing critical reviews in the UK, U.S.A., Russia and Europe.
