Some basic ideas about music People sometimes ask me why I do all this "noise music". They claim that normal music has a meaning, some even speak of a "language of music". Thus they derive that my music has no meaning at all. This perspective is a bit strange to me, because it is easy to show that music per se has no meaning. It will get a meaning via the printing on the ticket or the CD booklet, that's true. But as long only the audio information is considered we can say that there is no meaning, no language and no grammar. Instead we can talk about habits and history and taste. We see that there are no laws of music as there are laws of physics. Music and musical composition is something very relative. Why bother with new music anyway? Why not just compose in some style X or Y as other people do again and over again. You only get into difficulties, people do not like it, you don't find any sponsor and so on. Because I feel it doesn't fit any more. The hero romantic viruoso approach doesn't fit as well a classical beauty.The world is not static, but dynamic. Our perspective and perception of reality has changed in the most radical way in this and the last century like never before. Astronomy, Quantum Physics, Theory of Relativity, Ecology, Genetical Engineering, etc. etc. give us at least an idea of how complex the world really is. We did not only change our perception of the world, but also our daily life has changed very much . The arts integrated this change very quickly, at least since 1918 and have developed in a very radical way. But Music? Well, of course since creation of electronics and sound technologies musical ideas have changed and are not limited to only by people without visionary sights. So label us what we are we are the future that is was and will be advante guard is a word. You cant capture a word for the burning of ones soul. So this is music we make when we pick up electronics and music and fuse them together any way we like........
