Adam Leon grew up in the small town of Ojai California. At a young age he and his next door neighbor discovered their musical talents by Adam taking his older brother's guitar next door where his best friend Ruben was banging away on his father's drums while at work. At the age of 16, Adam and Ruben formed their first cover band called Fifty Eight. At the age of 17, Adam purchased a used 4 track reel to reel recording machine, and began recording his first originals. Sadly through out the years, the tapes have become lost. Through Ruben, Adam met a band called 8 ball, who had just lost not only their drummer, but bass player as well. Adam and Ruben became members, and formed friendships with Nick Gordon (Chronic Blues Party) And Jay Redman, who would later become a writing partner to Adam's first recording original project called 'Spent'. Through mutual friends, Adam, Ruben, and Jay, met Heather Childers, and a few months later met Sheri Brandenburg. Soon, the new band name ReiigN was established. And this is the music that you hear above.
Recording at home, in Ventura California. I have built a home studio, using a Korg digital 16 track studio, I record everything directly without amps, including the drums. If I didn't tell anyone, they wouldn't know, and that is the magic of recording. Some of the acoustic guitars are recorded through a studio mic, including the vocals. I use POD XT Live for bass, and guitars, and Roland V-Drums. (This is how you manipulate being a recording artist, while living in a 2 bedroom apartment, not even my neighbors know what I am up to. I begin the demos recording/arranging the guitar tracks, then bass, then playing the drums, and then email them to the other members to learn, and then later re-track their parts. The magic of the internet is unbelievable. I can mix, and record directly onto my hard drive in MP3 format, and then email to members, without ripping any CD's, or cassettes. (That was the old way, and was very costly). It is all electronic now, and band members can rip their own CD's at home if they choose to, or IPOD them, that is what I do. I hope to one day soon get into Pro Tools, that will be my next investment.
