Sounds Like
Imagine mid 1980s Tangerine Dream smashed with the guitar fury of artists such
as Allan Holdsworth, John Goodsall and John McLaughlin smashed with the dense
electronics of artists like Daft Punk, Cypher 7, Ozric Tentacles, Eat Static with
a more ambient and song-oriented form. Can be very song oriented or also very,
very self-indulgent with too many guitar pyrotechnics. Not afraid of electric guitars,
not afraid of synths either or acoustic instruments. I'll use them all. Enjoy.
Operating in an experimental mode since the late 1990s, the
Aliensporebomb project has been masterminded by multi-
instrumentalist Todd Madson as a way to get his all-genres-fit
music to the world. Watch for him in 2007 and beyond as he
further infects the users of myspace with new organic musical
spores. Share and enjoy.
Chuck Hammer (David Bowie/Guitarchitecture):
"Thank God somebody gets it. I like your stuff."
John Goodsall (Brand X/Fire Merchants: "Re: Your sounds: Great Stuff Aliensporebomb. I'm enjoying your music ~ goodS"
Jeff Berlin (Solo Artist/Bruford/etc):
Keep playing and keep practicing because we need more good players out there.
Gods of Music said "With David Gilmour-esque classic rock guitar god style, asb's soaring guitar riffs give a much more transcendent and impressive feel to ... this recording." (of the track "Galaxy").
chrish, a Gtroblq member and recording artist said:
"You never fail to craft lush, engaging "sights" for the ears and mind, and your guitar playing is distinctly unreal."
Ken Rubenstein, independent recording artist (The cover artist of Guitar Player magazine in 10/91) said:
"Todd, your s**t kills."
Ken also recently added regarding a new track "very impressive, bud.....the comping at about 2:30 is quite dangerous. It's kind of like if Holdsworth played on My Life in the Bush of Ghosts.....great great.
Dan Stearns, amazing microtonal composer and guitarist has said: "Really cool super enjoyable music... and hell it's even got heaping piles of fun, hopped up guitar too. So if you haven't heard the bomb, what are you waiting for!"
Sonik, of the site Superevil.tv, a visitor to my Zebox site said:
"pretty cool stuff man, loved that galaxy tune."
Infinite Ego of The GtrOblq Mothership itself:
said of Eta Carinae:
"You've got serious and legit fusion chops on display. And I don't mean that in a
Gambale fusion way ... the phrasing is organic and on the edge rather than exercise-based....
This is excellent mood-enhancing music that manages to keep you on the edge of your seat due to the great guitar lines...BTW, that studio preamp sounds kick ass. Again, totally pro chops and phrasing. You gotta feel good about this."
He also said: "He is the BOMB baby! Great guitar playing!" (Thanks IE!)
David Renelt, of Munich, Germany said of the self-titled ASB track "Very great guitars!"
Aeolian from gearpage.net from the Bay Area of California said of my playing on a take of Robben Ford's "Help the Poor" was "nice and inventive melodic lines and cool rock tone. And then at the end he reveals prodigious (pro-digit-ous ?) chops and burns the last chorus."
Mike_V from the old Harmony Central Forum said of "Daybreak":
...I subconsciously have this song going through my head. I realize it's there and stop to think what the hell it is. It is your DAYBREAK. I love the main melody. The Bass Line is great and what is the keyboard instrument you use in the background? (It was a PPG Wave btw. -asb).
Great tune. I listened at work earlier and it is stuck with me.
For those who have not heard this tune. DO SO! It is wonderful. Go, what are you waiting for? Shoooo, go, go download and listen, now!" (Thanks Mike!)
Ed DeGenaro, a great guitar player and THD proponent said of my recent take on "Psyched", a 15/8 collaboration with RedAnt in LA "Your clip was way more ethereal than I expected, totally took me by surprise. Dug the recklessness of it a lot."
R0g3r Sullivan, guitarist extraordinaire of the New Orleans area said of the same track: "Sweet... I like the part where you really start going off.... You're a legato freak man!"
1) Audiomachie (6:21) 2) Une ombre vacille en serpentin virevoltant (6:58) 3) Bruissement de griserie (9:55) 4) Propensity to go forward (7:36) 5) Drawing of a Back with a Mouth (4:24) 6) Second Life (3:50)
(39:12)
- The project was about trying to explore different poetry styles, always with different instrumentations and musical structures because I don't want to repeat a single one - An album not directly linked to the four previous ones, but with the impossible to avoid come back to fetish themes - Second Life is about the technological phenomena, but I got better things to do with my life than spending it on the clone of a capitalist society - We might as well hope for a real bankrupcy for all of us, it would be worth it to kill capitalism
Most of you will just want to listen to the music made available. Well, here it is with great streaming (right after MA VIE est ICI which is a reminder of my previous album conclusion) http://www.freakywaves.com

Hey, thanks for the kind words. That's the first kevin Gilbert comparison I've heard, but it makes sense. I'll take that as a compliment. I liked your sound a lot. I'm a big fusion head. I see you're in Bloomington, MN. I've seen some good bands at 1st Ave. Do you play out in the city?
