co-founded the apestaartje collective/label
in 1998 while studying at The Art Institute of Chicago. Since then the
label has relocated to Brooklyn and released CDs from artists from
Japan, Germany, Austria, Australia, France, and the US. Holtkamp has
released two solo albums as Aero and two albums as Mountains, a duo
project with Brendon Anderegg. He has toured throughout the US and
Europe performing everywhere from festivals, art galleries, and
museums to basements, hippie communes, churches, and rock clubs.
Holtkamp has performed with Fennesz, Tony Conrad, Greg Davis, James Blackshaw, Tape, Nicholas Collins, Carsten Nicolai, Lichens,
Supersilent, Alog, etc. He has also been included in several
exhibitions, most notably at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. His current
solo performances utilize acoustic instruments and objects played
through a series of both analog and digital electronics to create an
extremely gradual and hypnotic listening experience. 'Field Rituals',
his first solo album under his own name will be released by UK based Type records in Sept 2008.

PAUSAL is a duo who started recording together in 2005.
Having both finished their respective University courses, Alex in Sonic Arts and Simon in Multimedia/Computing, and living nearby to each other in Fleet, they would frequently meet by accident and came to the realisation that they were at a similar point in terms of the kinds of ambient and drone music they were making and listening to, although both having arrived there from a different direction, one from a background in electronic music and the other from a more guitar oriented path.
Since then, they two have been collaborating and producing together, whilst also putting on shows in the beautiful english countryside. The live shows are a complete immersive experience utilizing large scale visuals created by Alex.
In the past they have shared bills with such people as Aidan Baker, Stars of The Lid, Daniel Higgs, Grouper, Rameses III, Signals, Mandelbrot, ...

Dernière projection à Paris de mon film « Where are you going ? » suivit d'un débat organisé par l'AAFC.
Ce film de 40 minutes à l'expression délibérément sobre, sinon minimaliste, sur fond sonore de musique électro vous fera voyager en train depuis Marseille jusqu'à Pusan (Corée du sud). Et comme il existe une multitude de voyages, une question revient en permanence :
« Where are you going ? ».
Après la projection je vous propose une discussion autour du film. Puis Benoit Queneday secrétaire général de l'association d'amitié franco-coréenne viendra animer un débat :

Musicienne américaine atypique, BJ Snowden a acquis le statut de véritable légende underground et est considérée comme l’une des figures les plus marquantes de la musique Outsider, aux côtés de Tiny Tim, Wesley Willis ou Daniel Johnston. Elle est responsable du désormais cultissime hymne « In Canada » que l’on retrouve sur les fameuses compilations de Irwin Chusid, Songs in the Key of Z. Ses compositions ne ressemblent à aucune autre. Très rapidement, elle a conquis des fans de toutes parts : parmi les plus prestigieux, Fred Schneider (The B-52’s) ou Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys).
Sa toute première venue en France est un évènement unique et immanquable. (Mais si, mais si !)
