Ali Handal quit taking piano lessons to pick up the guitar when, in 7th grade, she got her first taste of Led Zeppelin. Blown away by Jimmy Page's explosive riffs and the band's carnal grooves, she was hooked - she had to master lead guitar.
Two albums and countless shows later, Handal continues to explore themes of passion, love, and life as an independent young woman. Her songs, whether funky rockers or tender ballads, are connected by passionate singing and insightful lyrics. Oh, yeah - and by her guitar playing - she plays every guitar you hear on her CDs.
Besides Handal's recording & touring schedule, her songs have been featured in several TV shows: Sex in the City, Dawson's Creek, Joan of Arcadia, Life As We Know It, and other programs on MTV & VH-1. Her songs have also been heard in the sky on Northwest/KLM Airlines, and overseas, where "Dirty Little Secret gets radio play in South Africa, and South African TV star Candace Hillebrand recorded a version of her rock tune "While You're Here."
