From nu funk to broken beats/brakes, jazz, rare groove to Latin breaks, Afro Beat, hip hop to dub/reggae with a drizzle of cinematic movie bits and beats - Ali James has played many parties and clubs in and around London and the South East - including Hey Chica (on the Thames with Alfredo and Nicky Holloway), Clockwork Orange, 333 Club, Leisure Lounge (then the Paddocks with Steve Proctor), Dust, Cream (Oscars - Clacton), 93ft East and festivals. Constantly pushing the boundaries with jazz fusion along with world music and enjoys the element of surprise within his sets – Stand up, Lay back, strap yourself in and take the journey, who knows where your end up. Big infleunces over the years has always been Electro, classic house, Hip Hop, all the bods involved with Boys Own Productions and the Ninja Tune label and was a regular reveller at STEALTH @ Blue Note once a month on a Thursday, Hoxton. Also, spent many a weekend travelling up and down the M25 to Raindance, Sunrise, Energy and many more many many moons ago... I do like that early morning mist !!
