Alina Rostotskaya is a young russian jazz singer and composer. Alina was born in a family of musicians and started her musical journey as a classical pianist at the age of 5. At 15 she entered musical theatre as an actress and didn't plan to be a professional musician. But at 17 by pure accident she came to a jam session and fell in love with jazz. Alina started to sing this music and quickly came to feel at home in musical community of Moscow.
Now she is studying vocal in the State College of Jazz Music in Moscow (class of Irina Tomaeva).
She is only 21, but it doesn't prevent her to work and make recordings with a fabulous russian musician Sergey Manoukian, to write music, to perform at the club stage and to take part in various jazz festivals. She sang on one stage with such great musicians as Phill Perry, Patsy Grant, Alexey Kuznetsov, Marimba Plus, Daniil Kramer, Pavel Chekmakovsky and many others.
From 2006 to 2008 Alina took part in Jazz-Tver festival (Tver), Le Jazz summer festival (Moscow), Festos(Moscow), Jazz Voices (Moscow), Moving Club Meets Friends (Samara), Rabarbra Jam festival (Norway) and others. In 2008 she won a special prize at the international competition Nomme Jazz in Estonia. Now Alina's working on a new programme of her own music with her band Jazzmobile and still raising a musical level.
My first Cd "Blue Like A Jazz Note" has just been released and is now available for purchase from my site. This album represents the culmination of years of hard work and a dream that has been alive in me from my earliest days. It includes 15 great jazz standards by some of the world's greatest composers. I hope you'll come and have a listen.

Jon to Alina: Greetings from San Francisco Airport / SFO International Terminal Alina! Many thanks / Spah-see-bah for the Add-On..you sound fantastic in Moscow! I was there in 2003 for 2 concerts in Taganka: .. I don't know if I will ever be able to come back, but it was a fantastic experience and I enjoyed to play with the Russian musicians very much..probably because I have some Russian blood in my veins also since my Grandparents came to USA from Odessa, Latvia and one Grandfather from Russia. I was born in Chicago and my Grandparents could never return to the 'Old Country' I heard so many stories and many bowls of delicious Borscht, but I went and if you meet some musicians who remember me from my shows there 5 years ago, please say to them from Hammond "Ya lu blu vas"! If you come to New York be sure to contact me. I am on the radio every morning on KYOURADIO 1550 AM HammondCast Show. Keep up the excellent work in Music Alina! c u in a minute, Jon http://ascap. com/network/audioportraits/Jon_Hammond_Rent/ *Member American Federation of Musicians Union Local 802, Local 6 / ASCAP Publisher
