I read this book weeks ago where a boy was looking for a Shift. Something changing in him, making him better for others but especially for himself. I know that I am slowly but surely experiencing mine. I used to have some sort of mutual magnetism towards people of the bad sort. Now I can just close my eyes and forget them, they fade and it feels so good to know that I have that much more control. That every single bad done towards me can be forgotten and I can move on with life. Because if you're anything like me, you'd know how paralyzed you can feel toward the influences of life. A few times a year I announce that I am one step closer to being right, the Amber that went away for a long time and left a stranger to stand in. Well yes, this is one of those moments, a very important one. I realize that I dont need you, or you. That I am one awesome person and you will be lucky to ever get to know me, which is my choice. I get it now. I am beautiful, with or without my make up. That's my opinion that matters, not yours. And I wll still have my ups and downs, and I will need a hand, but I am taking 7 steps forward and 2 steps back every time and there's no way I will let you stop me now. I can finally love myself, after 18 years, I've got it. 7.31.09
