Recognized across Canada as the face of Ontario Tourism’s “There’s No Place Like This” campaign, singer/percussionist/composer Aline Morales is a natural talent and a powerful presence on stage. Born in Brazil, Morales has called Toronto her home since 2003. She rose to prominence on the Canadian music scene as the leader of the Afro-Brazilian percussion troupe Maracatu Nunca Antes, who's energetic live performances and 2007 CD, "the Beat Migration" garnered the group much praise and critical attention. In 2009, Morales was named one of Exclaim Magazine's "Artists to Watch." She is currently the leader and singer for Baque de Bamba, an Afro-Brazilian percussion troupe in the maracatu tradition. Her highly-anticipated full-length solo CD, in collaboration with producer/arranger David Arcus, is due out in early November 2010.
