We are two, sometimes four. Gemma writes most of the songs and Sam plays most of the good bits. We like experimental noise drone music as much as we like a beautiful folk song. Live we want to tickle your chins and space you out, on record we want to transport you. A-Line sounds like: a mini Georgian choir; dogs running over snow; the music played on a space ship as it prepares to dock into a small utopian community geodesic dome on a planet far away.
Hello folks! Just a quickie to alert you to the forthcoming Please Please You fun we have planned in York.
At The Basement...........
Firstly, Friday night we have a great folk/country/blues show. Time Lag Recording artists Elephant Micah is headlining with his ace lo-fi country-folk songs. He was the recent tour support for Jason Molina which gives you an idea of his style. Last record was described by The Wire as "A beautiful slice of narcoleptic folk that captures the lugubrious nothing-to-do feel of late summer days as well as the slow motion dance of dust in a ray of sunlight." Yup.
Elephant Micah, George Fell, Dallas Boner, The Wayfaring Strangers + Adam Rogowski. Fri. 29th Aug. 8pm, £5.
Also on sale now:
Everyone To The Anderson + Lebanons. Tues. 2nd Sept. 8pm, £5. (Quality post hardcore from Brighton/Tunbridge Wells!)
