Alio Die
Stefano Musso studied art and electronics in his home town of Milan, Italy, and began performing ambient, electro-acoustic music under the name Alio Die in 1989. Characterized by evocative acoustic sounds manipulated and tendered electronically, Alio Die's work builds intimate soundscapes tied to the mystery and majesty of life and nature. His first CD "Under an Holy Ritual", released on his label Hic Sunt Leones in 1992 and re-released on Projekt in 1993, was received with international acclaim. He subsequently released more than 40 CDs, and collaborated with many well-known artists such as Robert Rich, Vidna Obmana, Mathias Grassow, Nick Parkin, Yannick Dauby, Amelia Cuni, Raffaele Serra, Saffron Wood, Ora, Antonio Testa.
"Natural and acoustic sounds and selected noises, electronically treated and reworked, are integrated in a meditative and spiritual context that often, in the feeling, becomes close to a prayer. Visible static, this music is rich of hidden sounds, layers of elements to discover at each listening. Alio Die's music, in the consciousness space that creates, it's a melting of technology and mysticism, like a new ritual with echoes of a medioeval time, deep and grounded in introspection."

Alio Die: L'introspection sonique
Héritié de la nébuleuse Eno, Alio Die a encré de nouveaux points de tangentes créant un style qui lui est propre laissant ainsi des voix d'accès pluriels au style ambient.
Cet artiste italien (de son vrai nom Stefano Musso) Alio Die veut dire en latin: " les jours d'autrefois" égrènne des matières sonores vibrantes où des paysages microscopiques se mettent en place.Sa palette sonore est vaste: Bruissements naturels , craquelures et textures diaphanes, éléments et instruments acoustiques, percussions, traitements et harmoniques électroniques, voix deviennent de la poésie sonore sombre et/ou radiante . Certains visuels sont aussi d'Alio Die. On pourrait penser à la peinture d'Antonie Tapiès ou d'une photo "macro" créative et réappropriée, des travaux de Russell Mills, de 4AD.
Son language esthétique est riche et demande une écoute attentive afin d'en
déceler toutes les strates et sédiments successifs.
Sa discographie est abondante et ponctuée de collaborations fructueuses

L'idée de mouvement est présent derrière l'apparent immobilisme, l' univers sonore de l'infiniment petit se déploie dans une organisation naturelle. On oublie facilement la lutherie électronique déployée pour se concentrer sur son vocabulaire sonore et poétique. Un vivier de textures athmosphériques prend des allures de mondes introspectifs et organiques à explorer. On parlera de musiques nocturnes tant l'écoute demande un silence approprié de circonstance. On pense aussi à Robert Rich et ses "Glurp".On peut évoquer Eno (époque "No Land"), "Approaching silence" de David Sylvian, "Dream Theory In malaya" de Jon Hassell, Nausicaa de Michel Redolfi, Michael Stearns ou certaines oeuvres de Steve Roach/Jorge Reyes.
Alio Die est un des maîtres de ce courant.

As winter hibernation and spring awakening gives way to summer, Halo Manash rises radiant into luminosity, with wings spread into all worlds, and brings forth Taiwaskivi, an opulent work of solar ambience and primordial Ur-music.
Taiwaskivi, a work of sonic flame and aural ash, consists of seven interrelated tracks, utilizing such diverse instrumentation as organ, horns, vocals, drums, gongs, percussions and various string instruments as well as field-recordings captured during the pilgrimage that the creation of the work embodies.
An air of finality abounds, as Taiwaskivi, although a complete work in itself, can also be viewed as the third and final facet of a tripartite series of works that are part of one holistic creation – a treelogy, with seed, root, trunk and finally, branches. Being the culmination of an ascending journey through the aforementioned realms within and without, Taiwaskivi is the celestial crown at the peak, reaching toward Sol, source and beyond; it is the leaves and fruit of the branches and their skybound nectar ever-flowing - the sacred fire, the consummation and conjunction of All.
Comes in a hand finished cardboard booklet. Two different editions are available; regular CD edition and CD + DVD with inserts. Both are limited to 500 copies.

Vetvei label presented its first CD release, a collaboration of two congenial projects dedicated to the Symbols of Creative Roration. A retrospective journey by the bird through smells of melting herb songs and contemplations of the mysteries of Life. They are flowed away by Water, from the Ice to the boundless lakes dancing in mosses. Following to the Forge of Earth, walking the dense forests, winds and marshes, meeting the Heart Guardians. All the cycles of nature follow each other, Fire goes to Water and Earth goes to Heaven. Cosmos swaddle the birds flying toward dawn. All invocations in the name of Life. Many praising voices of people and animals merged into a rhythm that glorify the Natural Order, eternal and endless. Field recorgings, woodwinds, strings, percussions and drums, voices, tape noises and electronics was used in this work.They're all merged into a single timeless canvas. Spirit of every living thing awakening runs through it. An atmosphere of Ritual crossed with cosmic primordial Drone Ambient.
