The rivers here seem to just sing songs to yah......and I write them down.
I am currently going thru a musical and spiritual change ........ I’ve played with different artists and listened to new music...AND my son Kayin(the funky bassman) and I haved formed a new band....OSAZE. David Martin, a man of many talents is currently playing guitar with us.
In the land of vortexes, rivers, little people, ancestors, fairies, spirit workers, etc;....... I sing, play percussions, write lyrics, and music.......Don’t try to pin me down into one thing...cuz...I’ve been blessed to do many things........
I style and improvise with B-Love & The Mountain High Soul Society...keeps my chops and and tuned! We sometimes intertwine our poetry...........
I also sing traditional Yoruba Chants, Old Time Music, Jazz, 2nd line influenced music and undescribable alternative channeled in ......music.
Whenever I play with the fabulous Akira Satake from Japan, I always seem to channel in a song! Imhotep played with us in one session and it was quite exciting having to have that New Orleans kick-ass drum style!
In 2003, I won the Asheville Council for the Arts Regional Grant in the category of Music. That grant enabled me to work with Jimmi Esspirit aka Jimmy Hopps, in New Orleans.
I do artist-in-residency programs with Western North Carolina Artists Agencies(WNCAA), and the Leaf-in-Schools(LSS) program.
With LSS, I will be teaching some basic Jamaican Folk-Dance steps along with a few African and Reggae rhythms. We received a special grant that will allow me to work during the school year in areas where art is really needed.....
I work with elementary and middle school students...YIKES!!!!! They have lots and lots of energy.......Whew!!!

Just a friendly hello from the StereoFidelics! It's been a long, long road but the time is almost upon us. After 40,000 miles, 4 national tours, and a head full of American landscape, we've finally finished our debut album, Only Sleeping. We will be having our CD Release show this coming Wednesday, December 10th at The Grey Eagle Music Hall in Asheville, NC. We will be accompanied by special guest, Oso Rey, the show starts at 8 pm, tickets are only $8 and CDs are only $10 inside the door!!! Come join us for this pre-holiday festive extravaganza and be the first to see The StereoFidelics like you've never seen them before (kinda). Some new songs, new approaches, and new gadgetry will set the stage and, of course, enough energy to power a medium sized village. Thanks for your support and see you there!!
