People have mentioned: Patti Smith, Bjork, Nina Hagen, Lydia Lunch, PJ Harvey and Annie Lennox. She has also been called the Janis Joplin of Barcelona. Most often people say she has a unmistakably unique voice and style.
Not knowing what to think of all those comparisons, we found this simple test on the internet and gave it to Alison to find out what she is really like. It came up with this:

LYRICS : Alison is looking for musicians to collaborate with.
Alison lived in Budapest, Hungary for four years and while there, did a series of concerts at the Godor Klub with a jazz trio. "Speaking Music" performed her poetry as musically accompanied spoken word.
Seeking more vocal freedom and more musicality for her poetic and rhythmic texts, she then jammed for about a year with saxophonist Varga Zsolt, and
composer/violinist/flautist/vocalist Georgi Stojanov. They composed together the music for a long poem called 'Hope', which received one public performance...
She returned to Canada for a few months in 2006 and while there joined DubblestandArt and Ari-Up (Slits) on stage at the Victoria International Folk Festival where she performed by special request of Ari, her song 'Tribute to Ani DeFranco'.
While in Canada she also did a lot of finger cymbol percussion in drum circles in Beacon Hill Park (Victoria) and some very organic voice workshops at Open Space, resulting in a public performance with composer Wende Bartley (Earth-Echo).
In September 2006 she went to Barcelona and added her vocal energy to numerous jam sessions which resulted in composing with Argentianian/German musician, Wally Von Haus (Tsunami, and Garden of Music).

RECORDING : "Techno Toys Blues" with Hungary's Anima Sound System, on 'We Strike' (2006), picked up by Mole Records for their compilation CD 'Listening Pearls'...lyrics and voice are Alison, music is Anima.... PERFORMING : In the 1980's, while in Ottawa, Canada, Alison did a lot of performance art based on her poetic texts. In response to this work, received a generous Explorations grant from Canada Council for the Arts. She is trained for the stage (theater) and has also done some acting, touring one-woman shows.
Alison also makes visual art . The pics in the slide show include some performance art and acting shots as well as a sampling of her digital art.
