ALISON DAVID
Alison David is widely regarded as one of the most charismatic singers in
the country. A stunning six-footer, with (literally) model-girl looks,
Alison is possibly best known for her work in Dance music, not least with
EMI's 'Red Snapper', and also perhaps for acting opposite superstar Colin
Firth (Bridget Jones, Love Actually, Pride and Prejudice) in the 2004 film 'Trauma', for which she also provided the soundtrack. Apart from
being associated with music industry heavyweights like Dave Stewart and
Pete Townsend, Alison is now attracting recognition for her own, very
personal, form of acoustic based soul and also for her associated work
with some wonderfully experienced and sophisticated session players who,
rather tongue-in-cheek, work with her under the moniker 'The Random Noise
Generation'.
A resident of Brighton, Alison is also a committed supporter of the Arts
and often features as the face and driving force of the 'Soul Reality
Collective' where, in addition to performing herself, she encourages and
mentors many other performers. Her love of jazz, soul and pop standards
also means she undertakes, selectively, some restaurant and function work,
both in band and duo performance options.

tonight, however, alison will be appearing with a new band of highly regarded musicians with similarly impressive cv's being keyboard player/second vocalist robin scott (waterboys, lesley garrett), bassist gary liedeman (lou reed, thin lizzy), master guitarist terry lewis (lewis taylor, chris holland) and charismatic drummer steevi bacon (robin trower, ronnie wood).
alison and the guys will be performing a selection of originals and hand picked covers, as well as mining ali's impressive back catalogue plus the odd soul reality 'standard'
'beautiful, evocative and inspiring......alison has found her musical soul mates with this dream team band

Re: Word of the Week
WORD OF THE WEEK (4/22-4/29) IS: "FEEL"
1. to experience an emotional sensation; "I love the way that song makes me feel."
2. to perceive by a physical sensation, e.g., coming from the skin or muscles; "She likes to sit outside and feel the cool breeze on her face."
3. an intuitive awareness; "The drummer has great feel."
4. to understand, agree with or relate; "Do you feel me on that?"
