Alison's Halo was formed in Tempe, Arizona during the fall of 1992 by Catherine Cooper (Vocals/Guitar), Adam Cooper (Guitar), David Rogers (Bass/vocals) and Roger Brogan (Drums/Percussion). Within months of formation the band burst onto the local scene and immediately began securing shows with national acts (The Verve, Ultra Vivid Scene, Curve, The Boo Radleys, Stereophonics, Medicine, Lovesliescrushing, Bailter Space and many others) as well as being invited to perform at numerous pop festivals around the country. Soon after, the band entered their home studio and emerged with material that would become their first single.
The Dozen/Calendar single was co-released by the band and Independent Project Records in the early months of 1995 to wonderful national reviews and extensive college radio airplay. The single's beautiful blend of chiming guitar noise and Catherine's breathtaking melodies perked many an ear and fueled the overwhelming desire for the band to load up the van and head out for a successful string of west coast dates.
Since then Alison's Halo released numerous cassettes, appeared on numerous compilations, played countless shows and festivals (CMJ, SXSW, INTEL etc) and have continued developing their own brand of noisy space-pop. For their debut CD release, the band carefully sifted through a mountain of various 2, 4, & 8 porta-studio cassettes, to assemble a stunning collection of songs tracing the band’s growth in both the songwriting and recording fidelity over years.
Since putting the reverb-laden Alison's Halo into a deep sleep over 7 years ago, the core members have resurfaced in Phoenix again with a new group called Lochheed (http://www.myspace.com/lochheed). Lochheed is the atmospheric evolution of Adam and Catherine's neverending obsession with extreme volume, fx-filtered tones and complete sonic saturation.
