Take action in your life and reALISe your dreams€ This was the intension when we Albert Hatchwell and Isabelle Hammerich established ALIS in 1995. The word ALIS came from a merge of the two first letters in our names. From 1995 until 2006 ALIS has evolved from a small underground movement in Christiania to a company that creates opportunities and inspiration. it has proved that dreams can be realised and that life is a manifold playground for creative ideas. But how did this happen? It all started with stickers and t-shirts being handed out to friends of the ALIS Familia; mostly skaters, djs, breakdancers and graffitiartists. Albert and Isabelle wished to support their friends who were active on the underground scene. This graduated to financial support of different innovative events on the underground scene, e.g. skateboard contests, hiphop-concerts and other independent events. A good example is Subkult, which was a 18 days hip-hop festival in Copenhagen in 1996 that presented graffiti and hiphop-music from all over the World. Around the same time ALIS founded a record label called 5 Svin Records together with the Danish hiphop-group and producerteam DGP/ Madness 4 Real. They founded a base for the progression of ALIS. In 1998 ALIS and friends built a small miniramp at the end of Pusher Street in Christiania. Neighbours complained about the 24-7 sessions and the ramp had to be moved. There was a more quiet place next to the dumpsters in Christiania between trees and untouched ground, where the ramp were moven to. Trees were cut and the skaters of Copenhagen were invited to built whatever they wanted. At this time, the fine Englishmen Tom Penny and Justin Ashby, were hanging out in Christiania and they joined the force. A huge, boombastic bowl was built, including a roll-in, poolcorners and oververt. The bowl is well known all over the world as "ALIS Wonderland". A winter went by and it was rough on Wonderland. It started to fall apart, and some hardcore workers were called in. Many hours later, Wonderland was indoor, with inside and outside balconies and an exotic atmosphere with Hawaiian paintings and hammocks. An ideal place to hang out in the wintertime. Over the last couple of years, theres been a lot of bowlcontests, parties and filmshowings at Wonderland. ALIS Wonderland is free to skate and is still the only indoor skatefacility in Copenhagen. The place is very unique. If you havent been there come check it out! ALIS is an integral part of Christiania and through its contributions and activities in sub-cultures such as hip-hop music, graffitiart and skateboarding, they have manifested the original spirit of Christiania in the wider Danish society. What started out as a creative experiment, has formed into an original brand that represents the best of modern western subcultures. There has been a lot of partying, drinking, ganja-smoking and world-touring over the years, but ALIS doesn..t have a hangover. They are about to fulfill a dream. ALIS are cooperating with designers, photographers, musicians, skaters and graffitiartists and their products has become better and better. They..ve released several collections of clothes for both men and women and ALIS has started to distribute their boards and clothing to the rest of Scandinavia and some parts of Europe. By concentrating on supporting the undergroundscene, ALIS has accomplished to establish one of the top brands of Europe. At this point the ALIS skate team consists of all European riders: Denmark: Nicky Guerrero , Flex o..conner and oscar grønbeck And proudly presenting from France : Bastien Salabanzi April 2006 ALIS opened our first store on Danish ground to show the hole ALIS universe to the local crowd of Copenhagen and other interested globetrotters ALIS intend to stay 100% independent, to keep on moving and supporting the underground. ..
