Abolition Band started in 2006, though we had played together as far back as 2002 while in college. We changed the name to Alive and Awake in summer of 2008 because it was a better fit for our evolving sound. We have played shows regularly in Boston, Somerville, Cambridge. When Patrick (bassist) moved away, Kyle (drummer) became the percussionist in an astoundingly good folk rock group- the Woodrow Wilsons (check them out). Michael has always been the chief song writer and carries on.
Venues we've played: Middle East Upstairs, T.T. the Bear's Place, Harpers Ferry, PA's Lounge, O'Brien's Pub, Jacque's Underground, Beachcomber, Abbey Lounge, Lucky Dog
Thanks for Checking us out.
Oh it will be up on youtube as soon as i get it on my computer and nice and edited up. I'd say by the weekend possibly if i get everything going smoothly.
And i hope he's not gone forever, i need someone to stand around and do nothing with at work
What's up guys? Rockin as all hell tonight, glad i was there. So i taped the show, but there were some technical difficulties with my tape during the end of Deception Song. Other than that, everything came out great from what i watched, good sound, good lighting. Now it's just the matter of trying to get it on my computer, i think i just need a specific cable and i should be in business. I'll keep you updated, and i'll try to get the audio by itself for some sweet livetrax. That's about it though
Wood Spider would like to cordially invite you to 115 Franklin St, a neighborhood punk house in Allston, MA. We are lucky enough to be sharing the stage (basement floor) with O Pioneers!!!, FORT! the Band, Interrobang?! and the Brave Little Abacus! Get there at 7 to see us play!
Admission is free, but bring some a few bills anyway, to help out the touring bands (OP!!! has made their trek all the way from Texas!)
You have our eternal thanks,
-WS
during the first or second song i said to my friend Anjuli something not unlike the following: "this has an awesome Joy Division feel to it". so your cover later felt just right. very good. -- H
