Artist Information
A-lix is a He and a She with a drum machine and 2 guitars bursting with electro power and pop-punk energy.
Voted No2 of Top Ten Live Gigs of 2008 in Glasgow (Local Acts) by Bluesbunny Independent Music Reviews.
The half French, half Argentinian duo formed in Barcelona in 2005 & forged their distinctive sound while touring on a line traced from northern Poland to Buenos Aires for 2 years.
The band came back to their then headquarters of Barcelona to produce their debut album "Never Grow". They chose to release & perform it on the innovative platform of Scotland's music scene.
It was named album of the week by John Peel Award 2008 Winner, Jim Gellatly on XFM radio, who championed their unique blend of European electro and dynamic retro-punk sensibilities.
BBC Radio 1 Scotland captured the band live at Hydro Connect Festival 08 and A-lix is regularly broadcast on Vic Galloway's show.
BBC Radio 6's Tom Robinson also "introduced" the band to a nationwide audience.
"Energy, enthusiasm and a dash of style" are terms used by live reviewers as A-lix are currently causing a storm on Glasgow's live scene. Highlight gigs include an unforgettable set at the legendary Razzmatazz in Barcelona and recent support slots for THE FAINT and DAS POP on their Scottish date.
A-lix have worked with bookers such as DF Concerts, PCL, Sinnamon promotions or Dicelines Promotions.
The band also feature on various Electronic and Rock compilations across the UK and Europe.
