Thanks so much for your comment! That's freaky that you recognized my resume ; ) I'm very excited for you to start working with Carol Vaness. She is simply amazing in every way. So down to earth and approachable. She is incredibly knowledgable, and really teaches the "real world" of opera. I think you will really love her, and I'm excited for you that you will be studying with her! You'll have to give me updates and let me know how you like her! Good luck, and enjoy Indiana!!

How are things going? I like your songs you have up now. Keep up the good work! Who are your favorite opera stars? Do you have any exciting performances coming up?
Hey again!
So... I happened to be on a computer with a high-speed internet connection, so I could listen to your profile songs!
And now I'm green with jealousy. lol
"The Doll Song" is *absolutely amazing*. How do you DO that? And can you teach me? lol
I gotta say, though, "Talk About A Child" is my favorite. I love that song anyway, and your version is stunningly gorgeous. You pretty much beat Jessye Norman (whose version I'm used to hearing) in my book!
I even liked that one so much, I "added" it to my profile!
Are we going to get these wonderful songs (and more like them) in iPod-fodder format any time soon? ;-D
Yea, Castrati... the castrated male in Handle's time period. Much like the counter- tenor although much higher and more of a boyish sound. There is still a recording of the last castrato named Alessandro Moresch. He sings Ave Maria; search it on google. He is a little rough, but his higher notes are very full and have the boy/light soprano quality. His lower notes need more "meat" in my opinion. If you listen to it, let me know what you think.
Handle composed for this voice type. I was told by a friend that the Messiah was originally intended to be perfromed with only males. There are men today that could sing the soprano part in the Messiah, I think I could with some work.....but famous sopranos and of course you would have less stress singing it perhaps... hehe
Hey, love the music! Pirates of Penzance is an amazing show, I just did it over the summer. I used Poor Wand'ring one for a lot of auditions, it's a great song. Thanks for the add.
