you tell me ... who do i sound like? Every one I speak to who hear me sing more than one artist always say the same thing... you sound like every body? ... who knows, i find it hard to beleave but as i said who knows? maybe i do? ... hhhmmmmm?
So apart from the photography, i used to walk up the street as a wee girl singing at he top of my voice (in tune) never realising, time went on, years went by, my parents decided to by me a kareoke machine. i sang withthe head phone on this way i thought i was quieter??? NOT THE CASE AT ALL!!!! so every one decided they would listen in... i sang at my grans 50th party and i cried with nerves afterwards... then a few more years later I was on the tequila and was badgered into going on the pub kareoke?? my mates had never heard me sing htey had only heard the high ends of howling over machines in the factory... they fell into a bit of shock after i sang, so to did the pub crowd! this was an effect i would come accross many times in the future! i was entered into a competition when i was ninteen all my mates from the pub came and i was so nervous i forgot my brand new bought music sheets and when i got to the venue they couldnt play any of the songs i had prepared to sing so i had to sing some balads, ( I will always love you, without you, and i have nothing) Nothing came of that compitition and that was that, but weeks after a snow ball effect happened... i got calls every week from other venues who had heard me there or heard of me... for a period of time i sang on stage, loving every minute and meeting all of your popular choices of scottish reality tv winners, your DAVID SNEDDONS and MECHELLE MCMANUS's of the world... i entered all of the same comps and just didn't have the spark, over confident ego filled rooms made me shrink and feel sick so i never made it. One day this man calls my house asking if he could come to visit, says hes driven all the way from London to see me? sooo a bit warey of it all, i'm like ye come on doon! he says he works for crycler records and would love to sign me for his new material, and informs me that the other guy in Edinbugh i am singing for is doing everything in his power to keep me a secret from London Warner Bros, that they have been trying to get a hold of me for months? long story short I got bumped out of the recording contract and sang for free for the other guy from crysler Bumpbed again...???? lol I alwasy like to see the happy side to people! life went on and i got involved with a few musicians and i played in bands and stuck with one band for a few years, I made a bond witht he band that can never be replaced!! then moved to Australia, I have met a few musos but my heart hasn't been in it for now, maybe in a few months i will start to gain a little centre in my life and start to sing again... till then watch this space. thanks for reading.
