Matt drums. Sainsbury plays guitar. Humps plays bass. Ben croons.
Influences
We do our very best to rip off most of those unfashionable 90s Skatepunk bands (who you love but pretend not to), all those slightly more fashionable 00s 'emo' bands, and a handfull of 80s metal bands. Honorable mentions go to: Shoe and Annalise. We'll remember some more later.
Sounds Like
You could listen to our songs and tell us who you think we sound like. We've been called a 'Cabaret act masquerading as a stage show' (cool huh?) and compared to Annalise, Millencolin, Face to Face, Captain Everything and some other bands. Our new songs are like a baseball bat straight to your face. Kidding. They're just like the same. But slower. Because Matt is getting too old to drum fast.
All About Adam have been about for aaaaages. That's because we're too lazy to split up and be in other bands. And we love each other. Our connection isn't just emotional. It's physical, maaaan.
Exeter in Devon is our spiritual home. It's where we belong. Sainsbury and Humps still live there. Matt and Ben live elsewhere. We used to play a fair bit; it helped appease Jon Shoe, the guy that put out our CD in 2003. He gets mad if we don't play, and we're scared of his nasty temper.
Sainsbury went to live in India for a while, so we stopped practicing. It'd be nice to say he went to discover himself, but according to his dad, he did that at about 14. A lot. When he got back we thought we should practice again. So we are.
And that's actually going alright. Who knows. We may even play some shows again. We're writing songs and stuff. You might like them, you might not. But next time we have a show, come and see us anyway. It'll be fun. We'll even play some songs in between the talking. And Sainsbury has so much cash now he'll probably buy you a drink or a car, or something.
In the meantime, whilst we're still figuring out how to play their songs and rip them off, you should check out The Cut-Ups. Or you could check out Kody. That's the band Ben's brother is in. So is Gareth Icke. He's dreamy. They're both in our top 8 below.
That's all for now. Word. All About Adam.
Edit, 2 July 2006: It appears the photo of Adam naked with the AAA logo covering his shame has been censored by MySpac. It's gone anyway. Bearing in mind there's a whole bucketload of porno on this site, getting rid of a picture that was less revealing than a bikini seems a little stupid. Adam isn't *that* ugly.
