Who I'd like to meet:

I love to read. I am from the school of thought that you can not be a good writer if you are not reading. Favorites are hard for me. I grew up reading everything from Christian Fiction to Stephen King and Dean Koontz. However there are a few authors I would love to meet just once in my life. Richard Bach – I was given my first Richard Bach book when I was 5 years old. I slept with Johnathan Livingston Seagull till I was nearly 9. I love the style of writing Bach conveys. I love reading books that make me a part of the character. When I read a Bach book, I can sour above the clouds as if I am controlling the character. I can feel the air and smell the salt of the ocean below me. He is by far my biggest influence. Jack Canfield – I have always been a fan of Jack Canfields. I was given his Success Principles as a gift from a coworker before I got sick last year. I keep it in my trunk and read it whenever I get discouraged at work. Furthermore, I have full admiration for Mr. Canfield as a man who has inspired millions through his Chicken Soup for the Soul Series. I would love to one day write a Chicken Soup for the Endo Soul. Maybe I will pitch it to him someday should we ever meet. Maya Angelou – I have immense admiration for this women. She is a talented poet. She is a moving writer, and she is the example of what I hope to be someday. She not only inspires others, she maintains being a pillar of beauty and grace through any circumstance. Maya Angelou is to me, the essence of beauty and grace showing others what it truly means to understand yourself from the inside out.

  • Music

My music is as eclectic as my reading so here are the tops for me. Rie Sinclair Leona Lewis Bob Hartry Kendall Payne Tech n9ne ( I know this does not follow suit but I give credit where credit is due. Great beats and a nice guy. Look beyond the albums.) El the Self Image – One show you can always find me out. If El is playing I am there or in a hospital. Check out his music on myspace music or check him out on my friends list Lil Ant – I love him not just as a great friend but he has a really clean sound. Listen to some of his new beats and you will find everything from Asian influence to underground rap. Check him out on myspace music or on my friends list.
  • Movies

    ..
  • Television

I do not watch a lot of TV but there are a few shows that even after canceling the cable, I continue to watch online. They are as follows: General Hospital – Do not laugh just because it is a soup opera. You have to give credit to any show that has been on the air for more then 45 years and has won more then 60 Emmy awards during it's tenure. House – I love this show. I have felt many times that I could have been the subject of one of these medical marvels at any time. I also know what it is like to continually be misdiagnosed only to end up under the knife once again. Hell's Kitchen – I love to cook but even I am not stupid enough to challenge Gordan Ramsey. Have you seen some of the contestants on this show? I think I would scream too if I were him. LOST! - If you are one of those who like me gave up on this show in the beginning of season 2, go back and start watching. I understand that it was slow there for a while, but this show has me hooked and it will have you hooked too.
  • Books

At any given time, I am open to reading new authors. Here are some that have touched me lately. I encourage you to check them out as well. Mark Hoog – Letters From Katrina – All I have to say is WOW. This man is a true inspiration to me. He is changing the world one book at a time. Mark has taken tragedy and turned it to hope not once but twice and has effected thousands in the process. A pilot for United Airlines, Mark found his passion to inspire others when he lost his friend and mentor Jason Dahl (Captain on flight 93) on September 11th, 2001. Out of this tragedy the Growing Field series, and Mark’s message of Conscious Leadership, was born. Through the series Mark shares with children ideas on personal growth, self empowerment and how to live life “without limit.” In the spring of 2006 Growing Field Books began donating books to a single elementary school in Colorado. Inside each book students were invited to write a pen pal letter to an elementary student in Mississippi. The letters touched the heart of Mark and his staff at Growing Field Books so deeply that he compiled them into Letters From Katrina. Today, these heartwarming letters of hope, encouragement and friendship are raising money for the Katrina Endowment and helping fund educational efforts in the region. They remind us all that we have the power to change the world when we learn to ask not about gender, race, religion or socio-economic status- but instead ask one another the magical question that will truly change the world…”Would you be my friend?” Letters From Katrina is not about looking back in fear or focusing on destruction. It is about hope, about inspiration and friendship and about the example set by the children of our country. Make a difference today! Purchase your copy of Letters From Katrina and help every child in Mississippi understand that while the storm may have been able to wash away much of their past…it cannot touch their future!!!! You can learn more about Growing Field Books at their website :http://www.growingfield.com/ or about Letters From Katrina at it's website: http://www.lettersfromkatrina.com/ He's So Vain, He Can't See You by Lisa E. Scott Maybe you know him? Maybe you dated him? Maybe you almost married him...oops! We all know a narcissistic man that drives us up the wall. More then constent primping or his obcession with himself, we just look to be part of his life, but that is where it ends. We wish to be, but never will. Why? Because he is a narcissist and can not see you. It is not entirely his fault. Maybe he would see you for the amazing women you are if he could see you at all, but he can't and you can't make him. Follow Lisa E. Scott though a memoir, in which she recounts her experience of falling in love with not one but two pathologically narcissistic men. Then ponder the idea that if our society is becoming increasingly narcissistic, what are the warning signs, and how can we avoid dating narcissistic men. Check out more about Lisa E. Scott at www.Vainencounters.com The Devil's Reign by George Newberry. I had the wonderful opportunity to sign books next to Mr. Newberry at BookExpo America 2008. He is a delightful man who has me captivated by his story. The Devil’s Reign is a true story. Statements made by the author in this book have been validated with documentation and verified by this publisher's legal department. You will read about a near-death experience, an ensuing mission to expose the forces of evil and warn people to get their lives in order with God, and mind-boggling events that followed. George spent years writing a screenplay to relay his message, while being bombarded with problems, financial losses and shocking supernatural experiences. For example: The name “Lucifer” mysteriously appeared on a court document, baffling even the agencies involved. When numerology was done on the circumstance involving that name it equaled “666.” Many documented and witnessed supernatural occurrences followed. A priest told George, “You have to finish your story or the Devil wins.” George finished his screenplay. But, he was still being watched by an evil eye. In 1998 a Hollywood Producer took $20,000 from him and destroyed his script. In 1999, over twenty scenes of George’s script appeared in the Arnold Schwarzenegger film, “End of Days.” The production company for that film was “Lucifilms” and the production start date was November 21, 1998, George’s birthday. George realized he was living the story he was to tell. He was in the midst of a battle between the forces of good and evil. His faith in the forces of good gave him the strength to confront the onslaught of evil, and he kept writing. He couldn’t let the Devil win. Regardless of religious beliefs, The Devil’s Reign is an inspiring book that will change people’s lives for the better. “The lamb never killed the lion. We can’t conquer evil when we are bound by our own rules. We must fight evil with our enemy’s rules and with equal force or we will be destroyed.” Learn more about George Newberry and get a sneak peak into this riveting new book at www.GeorgeNewberry.com.

A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store, but couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked the stock boy, 'Do these turkeys get any bigger?'

The stock boy answered, 'No ma'am, they're dead.'

Hi Just stopping by to see how things are going and to let you know what's happening with me.

I will try to keep you informed of when authors are doing a blog tour or book signing. I usually tell you about them in my status unless it is a busy day then I will post a bulletin. And, as a bonus, I have at least one author visit each month (usually more) and I keep you up-to-date on new contests from Harlequin. You never know when something new will show up! Coming next week will be an interview with the authors of A Regency Christmas!

I live each day of my life in pain but, that's not all I am and my life is fairly normal otherwise.  I am a wife and a mother, a sister and a friend.  I do my best to take care of my home, to fix nice meals for my family and to keep them in clean clothes and to pick up after them.  I juggle the bills and do the grocery shopping when I can and I do the best I can to be the best me I can possibly be.  I'm pretty 'normal' - except for the pain.  The pain that not many people understand.  Most of my friends have moved on.  Even many family members cannot understand and they no longer come around either.  What makes my life bearable are my online friends.  It is you that keeps me from feeling all alone in this crazy illness that even I don't understand.  It is you, you are the one that always takes a minute to say you are thinking of me, to let me know that I am in your prayers.  You are the one who reaches out and says, "I understand."  We probably don't live in the same city or state and we may never actually meet in person but your friendship is very real to me and I cherish you as much as if we had grown up together and had been friends all our lives.  You are not just my friend - you are my angel and I thank God for your love and support.
