Artist's Statement (Jennie Tudor Gray)
My artwork and life is fueled by passion for books, art, and the creative process. As far back as I can remember I have been drawing, painting, and reading. My dream is to incorporate my passion for art into the community of Austin through Multi-Cultural Creative and Performing Arts Education. My goal is to make art more accessible to all ages of Austin. My academic studies have taken me through all different kinds of art studies including Art History, Concrete and Metal Sculpture, Theatre, Puppetry, Ceramics, and Printmaking. Collage and assemblage out of found paper and objects are my preferred methods of artwork since there is something magical to be found in the history, papers, and bindings of old books.
Stitch isn't over yet!!! We still need to take the opportunity to thank our vendors, models and the awesomely fashionable city of Austin for their support. Join us this Thursday from 7 - 11 at Saba Blue Water Cafe for Free Snacks, Drink Specials, and, of course, great music. This event is free to everyone, hooray!
