As I leaned against a tree inside the forest expiring of self-begotten love, I looked up at the stars absently, as if looking for something else in the blue night through the boughs, and for a moment saw myself leaning against a tree...

I'm delighted by the velocity of money as it whistles through windows of Lower East Side Delighted skyscrapers rise grungy apartments fall on 84th Street's pavement Delighted this year inflation drives me out on the street with double digit interest rates in Capitalist worlds I always was a communist, now we'll win, as usury makes walls thinner, books thicker and dumber Usury makes my poetry more valuable Manuscripts worth their weight in useless gold -
Velocity of Money For Lee Berton Ginsberg

..I walked past a niche between buildings with tin canopy shelter from cold rain warmed by hot exhaust from subway gratings, beneath which engines throbbed with pleasant quiet drone. A shopping-bag lady lived in the side alley on a mattress, her wooden bed above the pavement, many blankets and sheets, Pots, pans, and plates beside her, fan, electric stove by the wall. She looked desolate, white haired, but strong enough to cook and stare. Passersby ignored her buildingside hovel many years, a few businessmen stopped to speak, or give her bread or yogurt.

.."Allen Ginsberg live in London...." is a DVD film of iconic Beat poet Allen Ginsberg reading his poetry live on stage in London from October 19 1995. The great man read material from the 1970's White Shroud era to 80's Cosmopolitan Greetings and 90's new and unpublished poems. He was seated at a single microphone on a large stage with a harmonium. Poet Tom Pickard assisted him. He was dressed in blue shirt, red braces and slacks. He read with great vigour, the audience of about 1000 people hanging on his every word. There was a great atmosphere. Classics such as 'Hum Bom!' and 'Put down your cigarette rag' were applauded wildly. 'Elephant in the meditation hall' highlighted the problems of the Iraq wars 1991 to 1998. A tibetan meditation was performed as well as a moving Ginsbergian version of 'New stanzas for amazing grace'. The reading lasted for 53 minutes ending with an audience singalong of 'The Nurse's Song' by Blake, the venue erupting into a standing ovation.

If I were doing my Laundry I.."d wash my dirty Iran
I.."d throw in my United States, and pour on the Ivory soap, scrub up Africa,
put all the birds and elephants back in the jungle,
I.."d wash the Amazon river and clean the oily Carib & Gulf of Mexico,
Rub that smog off the North Pole, wipe up all the pipelines in Alaska,
Rub a dub dub for Rocky Flats and Los Alamos, Flush that sparkly Cesium
out of Love Canal
Rinse down the Acid Rain over the Parthenon & Sphinx, Drain Sludge out
of the Mediterranean basin and make it azure again,
Put some blueing back into the sky over the Rhine, bleach the little Clouds
so snow return white as snow,
Cleanse the Hudson Thames & Neckar, Drain the Suds out of Lake Erie
Then I.."d throw big Asia in one giant Load & wash out the blood & Agent
Orange,
Dump the whole mess of Russia and China in the wringer, squeeze out the
tattletail Gray of U.S. Central American police state,
& put the planet in the drier & let it sit 20 minutes or an Aeon till it
"DJ Monkey …soul-stirring, excitingly edgy music…just disturbing (read ‘mind-f**king’) enough to demand attention. There is a whole spice rack of auditory flavors here, served up like fractured poetry on a collection of intensely listenable Hallmark cards from Hell." Bill Margold, Cinema Seen, L.A. X..Press

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
I made my first video slideshow and wanted to share it with you. The musician (Elizabeth Ann Middleton) is one I found through MySpace, and she generously let me use her music to set to my images. Visit her MySpace page here - http://www.myspace.com/pianorama - she's fantastic! :-)

rested the angel wings challenged the heart greeted our morals and our seats would sing and tables held strong and would chorus in the clink of glass in hand and pirouette each smile into a frenzy of dance of glossy words and forgiving eyes
true bright from any bruise of any loss of near love expressed in that hug never left in that hug of always here the true celebration would begin without fret of any broken cadence rhythm, joys the disjointed makes god of us all

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
